Units in that condition are a very normal occurrence in commercial HVAC especially restaurants

Hey Mikey Pipes, another beautiful job and great video! It's so sad seeing equipment in such a sorry state.

Why would the Goofball 🤪 in Charge of this New Restaurant wait until two (2] hours before their Grand Opening 1st Day Open ? Not Playing with Full Deck. 🤪👎

That system was designed for 2" filters, just fyi. Edit: My bad, I was still watching the video when I wrote my comment. But I would definitely be swapping them for 2" as the system design calls for it. I service a lot of RTU's and the sizes are pretty universal.

Hey Mikey, what condition was the evaporator fan blower wheel?
@billhill8393 ай бұрын
Nice job Mike! Btw, I changed a heat exchanger like that once, it wasn't too bad a job. Still would be a lot cheaper than replacing the whole unit.

it should be up to the building owner to repair the rooftops if they are renting the space they may still make heat ex-changers for that model

Swap that HX. 2 guys 8 hours probably $1000 in parts. Do the hx, safeties, igniter and flame sensor with it. Be done in 5 hours and going home early.

why not get one of those cool Coil cleaning rig that are use battery and have a tank and a pump? Water is limited, but you want to be careful anyways so you wont need as much water. I guess carrying 5 gallons of water up to a roof could be dangerous

Why is R22 bad? Sorry dont know hvac but enjoy watching your videos
@toddthegamer3 ай бұрын
I’m not a hvac tech but from what I know it’s more expensive compared like 410a and it’s worse for the environment
@Balticblue933 ай бұрын
@@toddthegamer Technically, R22 is not that much more expensive to buy as long as you get it from the proper channels, but HVAC companies make it out to be a huge cost markup. I still sell R22 every week when I fix leaks. Yes, it is more expensive but nothing crazy but we do charge more for it. Worse for the environment is not necessarily true as long as it is handled properly, it never gets into the atmosphere. Just because it has ODP and higher GWP, doesn't mean it actually releases enough to hurt the stratosphere. R22 is a better and more efficient refrigerant than 410a.

I cringe when I find one inch filters in a sunline unit.

100%!! Those systems were designed for 2" filters. I don't think I have seen many RTU's with 1" filters.
