How true is that you are not supposed to put a co detector directly in the air flow bc it gives false readings???

Does this unit have a brazed plate heat exchanger for hot domestic hot water? If so do you also need to descale the heat exchanger on the heating side as well?

The control circuit was open, not shorted. Short would take out the 24volt fuse
@bobcharles30295 сағат бұрын
A mechanical thermostat will go short when calling for heat but an electronic thermostat would go dark if it shorted the line. The best it can do is have different resistance for on and off in that way the display can stay on. The box it connects to detects the difference and controls a relay so the electronic thermostat looks like a mechanical thermostat from that point on.

The water level in my steam boiler was rising by itself. Tech said it was the vxt 120 and he would replace lt for $2780.00. Turned out it was the domestic coil and not the feeder. Glad I called a different HVAC company for second opinion. I would have been out all that money and still had the problem with the rising.

Had a similar situation. I seperated the split curcuit and made two zones. So much better. Also, before I put in my Jackson controls internet wifi thermostats, I put those fixed construction site thermostat pigtails right in the thermostat. I used the 70 degree ones because the other part of that law you cited is "every room" is 68 min and theres always that one colder room.

Hello Mike, I wish you were in Chicago this 2025. It has brought some challenges with a steam boiler on the second floor. I believe the big companies that advertise a lot do not have well experience people. It seems like they are more like salespeople. 2 people came so far, and without checking any parts, they tell me that the steam boiler needs to be replaced. Yesterday I was able to get a different company, again the guy didn't test anything he is going to change a bunch of parts, he told me is a kit, lower level pump, pig tail, side glass, water feeder and all the little electronics, I feel like I don't have a choice. Your videos are great, but I don't feel comfortable messing with that.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought another contractor installed all that plumbing/system. I believe you guys have worked on it before, but did your company actually do all that installation?

Heating a residence by boiling water is like an obsolete rotary phone. Overly convoluted, complicated expensive. The world uses Mini Splits, ever wonder why? The U.S. is decades behind in heating technology

All those high efficiency, units don’t save customers money at all the maintenance and repair. Is a lot more expensive Just sell them a 50 gallon A.O. Smith.
