Thanks for this video. Deep conditioning on dry hair doesn't work as well for me. I've tried it and wished it worked for me. since I wash and go weekly, and I use gel, its hard for the conditioner to penetrate my hair despite using heat. the gel is covering my strands. I have experienced that cowashing in the shower then applying deep conditioning, then getting out of the shower and using my steamer then rinsing with cool water in the shower has worked better for me. Yes, this is more time consuming and I hate that part, however, its what my low porosity hair likes. as a result my wash and gos are super shiny and my hair is well moisturized with just leave in under my gel.

Hi, I'm a new subscriber and I just want to say THANK YOU! I'm recently natural, about a month on the 30th of this month and I have 4C, low porosity hair. I've been co-washing at least 3 times a week and deep conditioning at least once a week, using the LOC Method to moisture and seal every night and my hair still felt like cotton. I'd been on a healthy hair journey for over 2 years relaxed. I knew healthy hair practices but I couldn't really understand why I could get moisture into my relaxed hair but my natural hair would barely take in water. So I did some research and then I find your channel and YASSS!! I did a deep condition on dry hair last night. Slept with it on, and my hair has never looked this moisturized since I did the big chop. I'm rocking the TWA and my curls were popping for the first time. I also switched my moisture and seal method from LOC to LCO and I like it. Thanks so much for the helpful tips. I love your channel!

I always DC on my wet hair. First I wash and condition and then I apply my DC, put on a shower cap and a heat cap. I tried a DC on my dry hair, but my hair had the same texture, looked and felt exactly the same as when I DC'd on wet hair. I have very Low Porosity hair also. I guess that it's an individual thing. But I really appreciate your video. Q: Has anyone ever tried to DC with a Hair Mask?

I have been confused about how this works for sometime. On lo po hair I would think that the product on the hair would keep the dc from pentrating. Then I would also think that shampooing after would wash all the moisture away.
@SheReaDelSol10 жыл бұрын
No, because your DC first, you hair is strong and supple enough to withstand shampooing.
@AshababyO10 жыл бұрын
Ok so what about it pentrating the products already on my hair?
@SheReaDelSol10 жыл бұрын
Ashababy O I've found that the products already on the hair do not hinder the penetration of the DC or protein treatment because of my body heat or heat from an external source. LOL, it just works!

Going to do it today. Thanks

MyThriftedCloset It was AMAZING!!! Thank you so much for this tip. I deep conditioned with shea moisture's manuka honey intensive conditioner for 30 minutes with heat. My hair was like butter, after, and I didn't use that much. My hair actually sucked up all of the amount that I used and then I finger detangled before shampooing with their shea butter shampoo. After, I used my leave in, styled and the next day I had the most luscious twist out I've had since starting my journey. Thank you, again. This tip is now a part of my regular regimen. ;)

Hey I have a question you deep condition on dry hair then you cowash or shampoo. If you shampoo isnt that taking away the deep condition moisture? I need help... Which is better after dry deep conditioning cowash or shampoo. If you cowash is there going to be moisture over load? I have a cowash day tomorrow I'm just trying to get right.

MyThriftedCloset
@SheReaDelSol9 жыл бұрын
Hey girl! I do both, however, I usually cowash because Sassy (my hair) HATES shampoo. I find that the DC imparts enough lasting moisture that the shampoo doesn't affect the conditioning. However, I would suggest you cowash and shampoo less, but it's really about what you're comfortable with. Hope that helps. Happy wash day!

I have high porosity with fine strands and keeping my moisture/protein balance is a struggle. I do my protein DC on dry hair, shampoo, then apply my moisturizing DC on wet hair. I really started doing this by accident, trying to use up some DC's (as pre poos), that weren't really working for me. But, since using them on dry hair they work much better and I have a lot less shedding lol. Go figure?

Just a quick question i dont know if it has been answered before but does deep conditioning on dry hair defeats the purpose ?? i mean if ur hair is super dirty and u deep condition ur scalp is dirty so how is the deep conditioner going to penetrate in the shaft and also if u shampoo ur hair after deep conditioning dont u rinse out the benefits of your deep conditioning ????
@SheReaDelSol10 жыл бұрын
Personally, my hair is never super dirty. If your hair is super coated, you will want to wash your hair first and then apply the DC to damp hair. Also, I rarely shampoo. I find that cowashing gets my hair clean. Even if I do shampoo, the DC also acts as a prepoo treatment. Hope that answers you question.
@patiencech563910 жыл бұрын
yeap it does and thanks :) i like to shampoo my hair at least twice a month and cowash twice a week so i guess i will try dry deep conditioning before i cowash and if i want to shampoo i will first shampoo before deep conditioning lol i hope that makes sense :) thanks for replying

@SheReaDelSol10 жыл бұрын
Definitely!
@luvpinkchic145310 жыл бұрын
MyThriftedCloset I wish I knew about this when transitioning. I think I would have been able to transition longer. Now I'm 24 months relaxer free and I deep condition at the sink but I do lightly spray my hair with water first then add deep conditioner then shampoo with my hair still in twists with a poo bar. This has helped my wash days tremendously.
@natesha14496 жыл бұрын
I hear you sis but why deep condition then shampoo (which strips away) the moisture out of ur hair? Isn't deep condition suppose to put back moisture? 😕 I have fine low positive hair and I use heat when deep condition and that works for me. But, but to each their own...we all can say we have fine low porosity hair but that doesn't mean it works for everyone cuz we don't have the same genes I guess....but to each their own. TFS thou...
