Just received an order of LJ DD 70's from Spro in the mail last week, and caught a couple of nice spots on them. I had the best luck with the chart blue, middle of the day, clear water with some wind. I really like the way they run.

I've been fishing for 15 yrs and I bought my first little Jon's this January and man I love these crank baits. They have their own wiggle, but it's more of a cross than wiggle.

Fished your crankbaits AND a Missle Quiver last week on Belews Lake just south of you. Nailed the bass!

I wish you had more of the Citrus Light, and Perch, especially in the DD 90. I caught my PB Smallie on the DD 70 Citrus Light.

Nice video John! I too wish someone would respond regarding the black/blue at night versus white shad pattern. I know that Matt @ tactical Bassin also says that white shad colors work great at night and does not have to be black. I have not done a lot of nighttime cranking, but may in the future. God bless!

I’ve caught most of my night time bass on chartreuse with a black back.

Mr Crews,you are a trusted source of technique and knowledge backed by success and a long and storied career in B.A.S.S;so I noticed you have the GamaKatsu long shank,round bend trebles on your plugs-what is your input behind going with those rather than,lets say a short shank EWG treble;like I prefer on the 90 % majority of my hard baits?-a curious cranking enthusiast wants to know...
@JohnCrews4 жыл бұрын
Round bend are best all around. EWG can work great in hot water but not best for all customers

Hi John. What gear ratio do you prefer for deep cranking using the Daiwa Tatula 150?

Are SPRO crankbaits designed to bump along the bottom or through the water column/brush?

I like throwing the dark blue deep crankbaits in muddy-dingy waters.

Why can i not find bluegill, sunfish, pumpkin seed options for deep cranking? We all know bream don't just live out to 10 feet deep. I've brought them out of 30 and 40 feet of water. And we all also know bass will eat them too. Haha I've used jigs and swim baits in bream colors down deep and it worked. But, i can't find deep driving crankbaits in these options. Do they exist or is it just me?

Why don’t you throw craw colors? Is there a depth range you do throw craw colors?
@JohnCrews4 жыл бұрын
I throw craw colors in the Rock Crawler but not much in the deeper divers. A red craw needs to be thrown at Clear Lake but that’s a lake specific deal

It always surprises me when a pro angler doesn't have a reel sponsor but that allows them to use whatever they want I suppose. 🤔🤷🏽♂️

@@JohnCrews Do pro anglers get paid with sponsors? I've always wondered how they make a living if they have a bad tournament year.

Did you get huge forearms from all that deep cranking? Or from wrist rolls from a dangling weight? Haha. Best you break some LargeJaws when you lip em!

DD mean Deep Diver, Ditch Digger, Double D's, Double Down, or Down Deep? Haha. I think Lil John Ditch Digger sounds best.

If you’re looking for what color to water you fish, you won’t find in this video. He only mentioned clear water a couple times around 7 minutes in video. Not much detail other than what he uses and how many he caught. Just saving you folks time from watching
