The Hd Dvd player was actually for HD Dvd which is a separate medium to DVD. PS3 had a Blu Ray Player in it (one of the reasons it was so overpriced due to costs of that inclusion) and there was a format war between HD Dvd and Blu Ray. They had mostly similar specs and similar-ish quality. However, Blu Ray won out, and therefore the bet that Sony put on including a Blu Ray player in their console snow balled into that being the format going forward for both consoles but movies.

People dont like resellers because they make even shitty old games crazy expensive. Because of resellers too PS 5 consoles were sold out 2 years and they sold them double bigger price than original stores sold. No thanks, resellers ruins the gaming and prices. But soon their game is over since for new generation consoles they stop making physical games soon alltogether. Starfield In xbox series x will be digital only release and after that most of the games...

@@susanna8612 regarding ps5s being sold out you are confused. Resellers weren’t the problem. It was scalpers using programs to purchase all the ps5s and “resell” them. Now to answer your next comment. Games have become far more popular as time has progressed leading to the influx of prices. Resellers are now using this popularity to create a business and earn a living. They aren’t the reason games have gone up in value. They just resell games based off what the market deems they are worth. I’m sorry the days of going to a flea market and buying a GameCube for $10 is over but you shouldn’t blame resellers.

I collect for the DS family, a few other games you go with some decent value are the Chibi Robo Park Patrol, Retro Game Challenge, Metal Gear Solid 3D, and Phatasy Star 0. If they are all complete, they will go for over $50 easy

The Xbox360 hd-dvd is a pretty cool part of history. It re-introduced the format wars akin to the VHS vs Betamax. Sony backed Blu-ray, Microsoft was backing HD-DVD (not in original console hence the "addon"). In the end Blu-ray won (giving Sony a 1-1 record for backing formats). I know I had a bunch of HD-Dvds to watch on the 360, but dont remember getting many games that utilized it.

The HD DVD was Microsoft’s answer to blu rays, as you can tell it didn’t take off. The Xbox 360 could play regular DVDs without that.

That is one hell of a collection there. Lots of awesome games and consoles like the GB light and Ys Origin Limited run. The GB light was only released in Japan and was the first backlit gameboy until the AGS 101SP.

The XBOX HD DVVD player was for a format of DVDs that didn't survive. The format was "HDDvD" is was the competitor to Blu Ray DVDs.

I'm perplexed as to how you turn a worthwhile profit off of this collection. First off, I don't know if the collection was estimated value at $40k, or you paid $40k cash to RGT85, but let's just say you paid him $10k cash. Even at $10k, from what you have showed here might not even reach that much because the games that are $50-100ish were less than 20-30 separate items. There were not very many high ticket items that were $100-300 or more. The rest were $5-10 bulk that doesn't amount to much. After fees and shipping, you are taking a huge hit. Not to mention, returns, people claiming they didn't receive their item they bought, etc. I would expect that too when you said you don't test your games, just taking a quick look at the discs is pretty sketch and not a great business model. So *if* you turned a profit, let's just say that profit is( being generous) $10k-$15k, or hell, $20k-25k......is it *really* worth doing all of this for that little amount of money? And if you paid him $40k, I mean, you lost a ton of money on this. Also, how do you make money when you have virtually zero knowledge of your own product?
