With all due respect, he was getting a lot of yards even within a Hermanized offense. With Sark the Shark he will get so many yards that there will be no need to keep feeding him the ball. Barring injury Bijan is going to run up some silly numbers against inferior competition and sometime even against really good competition. All that to say that he won't be getting that many carries because there will be no reason to keep running him. This will be exciting to watch. So, like the last 2 games where he ran up some startling statistics, with Sark running this show it's going to be like this a whole lot. And I'm not the least bit afraid of the OU defense. I think we score early and often. And throw in a defense that makes enough stops to win. But that's just me! AllGasNoBrakes

so glad you recognize the flaw in reading coverage. A huge misconception in baseball is that the hitter times the pitch. WRONG. This is why a pitcher will...throw an off-speed pitch. If you are timing a pitch, you are striking out. Hitting is a reaction. Same principle applies with Sark and offense. Let the defense do what they are gonna do and react. THEN when they make the first mistake, react to it by hitting them with the big guns...if you will.

This is the video which will make me subscribe. I have only one question. Did you coach? Your videos are a veritable coaching clinic. That last bit re: the hiring of Coach K reminds me of the British army in India. One of the most fearsome native tribes was the Gurkhas. The story goes that even though they were enemy combatants, the Gurkhas readily confessed a love of British military pomp & presentation. So the Brits said, "Hey, come join us & you can have spiffy uniforms & impressive military customs, too". The rest is history. Turn an opponent into a teammate. The more I learn about Coach Sark, the more impressed I am of his teaching ability. I have never seen a coach dissect his philosophy so transparently. "Keep it simple, stupid" is brilliant in its simplicity. If we're really as good as people think & say we are, then our players will blossom in this new philosophy. This is going from Tom "Gut-call" Herman to Sark as the Mr. Spock of college football. Thanks, & keep up the GREAT work!

Sounds almost like what Coach Herman tried, the loop concept, but failed to truly utilize players and their abilities. He stuck to certain things way too much. But their philosophies are drastically different, I always felt that Herman was handicapping our players by not letting them go all out and wanted to control the time way too much, Sark seems like he's not afraid to keep the foot on the gas and just score. I will say I got really tired of that 1-0 mantra Herman kept saying and making seem like other teams were better. The players we have are equipped with far better abilities then most other teams....he held them back mentally by that dumb 1-0 mentality. Let your players exude that confidence in their abilities.
@TexasHomer3 жыл бұрын
Yeah Herman was almost too cerebral for his own good. He kept trying to force offensive concepts and clock management where it simply didn't work. Sark will run his plays off what he's got. And yeah dude, he basically made us play scared with the idea that any team could beat us. I get he wanted to us to be humble and not take it for granted, but there's other ways to go about it.
@1odd9ball3 жыл бұрын
@@TexasHomer it will be better to see our players mentality change. We should be able to see a difference in how they carry themselves and how they act. When that happens I will be happy, it will mean our players have that confidence back. Watch how they acted and carried themselves the past few years and you'll see what I mean. This will also make it better to where they can run the plays better and have more confidence in it.
@nynclan20093 жыл бұрын
The key words here are "Superior Athletes". UTs recruiting isn't such. Yes they have one of the best pools to do so but then we also have to delve into player development which is lacking at UT as well. UT usually has better recruiting classes than OU but OUs development besides maybe a couple key positions QB and RB are way better than UT. Sark has his work cut out for him!
@TexasHomer3 жыл бұрын
I think I said a few more keywords than that haha. But yes, that’s why all of section 2 is about needing the players. We landed a top 3 class with Herman, we will be fine in recruiting. But you’re 100% right about development, it’s been a joke for us. These hires have a lot of NFL experience too, so they know first hand what is required. Sark, Stan Drayton, Bo Davis, Kyle Flood, all NFL guys at some point.

Technically Sark has no problem. But we know that wasn't the core problem, right? Tom Herman/Charlie Strong grew really bad culture for decade: Players negatively recruited "no player development, don't come here" and let your senior captain sing a torch song "alone" after the game. Herman himself "no player development", foolish penalties, double flipping birds, disrespecting rival QB, incompetent coordinators, incompetent athletic staff(thank god, Del Conte fired 35 staff who don't care win or lose) I am sure it will take at least ten years to get over this (just look at Tennesse, I am serious) If you keep saying "championship" or Big 12 title like this, Texas will be the next Tennessee. Sorry Tennessee fans, no offense.

OU has the only coach that can execute the loop. And it's not due to guys. OU was down bad this year (especially early in the season) and still won the conference. It's impressive and that showed me it's Riley's superior mind. Especially when he made the move to bench Rattler against us. That was some Jedi level knowledge of his team. So, the only way to snatch Riley's ring is to get someone who can outsmart him. He generally loses to the teams that they overlook (one a year), but if he knows to watch out for you then he's incredibly hard to beat. It's not about overpowering him. So CDC made about the only hire in the nation that could compete mentally as a play caller. Will it work? Who knows. But's that is literally the only way to beat Riley when he's expecting you.
