DEEP DIVE THINKING
USING THE META PLACE
L. Michael Hall, Ph.D.
In Meta-Coach trainings, ACMC and PCMC, I am often asked about how I can see or catch things that are not obvious. Frequently, just as soon as I point out some hidden or invisible structure, it becomes obvious to everyone, “Why of course, why didn't I see that?" If there's any short and quick answer to this, it is that I have learned to use a visual diagram to see the mind and what's there and how it is functioning. Yet that diagram is no secret. I draw it constantly when I do trainings. I even draw it in real time when I'm working with a coaching client. That diagram is in the Meta-States books and the Frame Game books. It is in the Matrix Model book and most recently, it is in The Meta Place book.
In other words, I do "deep dive thinking" using a visual diagram. And now, you can too. It's what I've been attempting to teach and mentor in the
latest book, The Deep Dive: Diving Deeply into the Mind (2024). And it is the subject of the next ISNS Wisdom, April 13, 2024.
