WHAT LIVES DOWN THERE

WHAT LIVES DOWN THERE

Күн бұрын

I'm joined by my cousin, Ian Pearcy, for an epic fishing adventure on the legendary Northern California trout fishing reservoir, Lake Amador! We test the freshly built DV-1 rig at extreme depth, dropping it a whopping 140 feet down in the deepest part of the lake.
What do we see in such a dark and inhospitable environment? And what else is swimming around in this awesome Amador County lake? Come aboard "Shadow" and join me, Ian, and his dog, Red, as we poke and prod around the depths and shallows of Lake Amador to discover...
...WHAT LIVES DOWN THERE?
Also, MOKELUMNE is hard to say.

So what species of trout do think that large fish under our boat was? Rainbow, Cutthroat, Cutbow, Lightning? And what other reservoirs would you like me to explore? The clearer the better. Thanks for watching everyone!

If you ever make it to Helena Montana you should drop the cam into the depths of Canyon Ferry Reservoir. I've always wondered what could possibly be living in 130+ feet of water. The lake is 34 miles long and most of it is deeeep. It's locally known as the dead sea. The shallow end produces alot of fish but no one fishes or films the depths.

YES!! Best comment ever. Hell yeah. Well, we tried again in the next episode, and have plans to return. The lake management actually invited us out to attempt it again during the right time of year, so stay tuned! Thanks Bret!

I live in Pioneer California and i came across your videos and think you should try Bear Reservoir or Silver, Caples and Red Lakes. This lakes are east of jackson on St. Highway 88 towards Lake Tahoe. These lakes have big Brown, Lake and Rainbow trout and maybe Brook trouts as well. The largest Rainbow I've caught is a 6lb and a 7lb.Lake trout and i thought it would be pretty neat to drop a camera down in these lakes myself but you are the man to do this instead of me. Good luck and looking forward to your videos from up at these lakes and maybe see you there. Good luck !

Hi Ron! Yes, this is awesome. Thanks for the insider input. Marking these on my map. Sounds like great spots! Assuming they're pretty clear if some are reservoirs. Thanks again!

@@WHATLIVESDOWNTHERE yes, these lakes are very clear from a shore fisherman's view. The only one one that's questionable is Red Lake it can get kind of murky or colored do to what I don't know but i think it only has Lahontan and brook trout i believe ! Anyway's im subscribed to you and will look forward to see the fish i will later catch. Ron Burnett 🎣

Used to live in norCal and fished that lake many times. I marveled at the large targets we saw on the fish finder there - especially in the deep middle. There are some monsters in there, I think. Now I live near and fish Pyramid, where monsters regularly bite your hook! Great video guys and I dig the music...

Hey! Thanks so much! That's awesome. Yeah, we were really hoping to see something big and wild. We saw some stuff on the fish finder for sure. I'll have to go back again soon. But also Pyramid is on the list! Stay tuned!

Hey guys can I offer you a free pass to come back out this spring when the lake is full and clarity is much better and do another video? I’d love to see what’s down deep again. Maybe in January next year as well because we always get tons of shad and catfish going in our trout farm coming from the main outlet of the lake that’s on the bottom. Only in Late December/January when the runoff from storms oxygenates the bottom and fish go down that deep, curious to see one of those infamous 60lb+ catfish is down there...

Hi! Hell yes! That would be amazing. Wow, so stoked! Thank you! We actually did come back and try again two weekends after this, with bait! That will be shown in the next video. I was hoping to see one of those elusive beastly catfish too! We’ll reach out! Thanks again!!
