That beer battered fish looks so good, but I can't go the tartar sauce like that.... Mix you some mayo or miracle whip , with sweet pickle relish, maybe teaspoon or so of mustard, chopped red/purple onions and just a tad of lemon juice,,,, stir it all up good and across the top sprinkle some paprika. Now you got something with really good taste to dip that good fish in. We made it like this at the fire station every time we had fish and it's so good. Great video Capt. and thanks for sharing! Oh by the way,,,, you will know just by looking about how much relish and onions to put in. Nothing has to be measured, you are a good enough cook to know!

@@OutOnTheReef I have a 90hp Johnson on a tracker 17ftr. When the lake gets rough I go abt 22mph thru 5-6 ftr waves 6-10 sec apart. The haul takes a beating @ that spd but if I try to go any slower I feel like the boat cannot brust thru instead the motor works harder & take forever to get to shore & dealing with the adverse weather& rough ride even longer sets in panic, I stand up so I can dodge the high waves. A few rivets got loose but am impress how this light aluminum haul held up after all the rough water I boated thru.

Hi Captain!! Loved this episode. My wife and I just returned from two weeks bare boat sailing in a 36 foot catamaran around the Whitsunday Islands in Australia. What a magnificent experience. I am now on five glorious weeks of annual leave and tomorrow I am taking my boat into Bass Strait, setting off from Queenscliff, Victoria, for two days hard core fishing. Well, maybe not hard core, but I will be fishing. Your beer battered fish looked bloody fantastic and the waters around that little island were pure paradise. Like you, I travel a lot alone but only because my wife works in I.T. as a contractor and she doesn't have the same time off as I do. I get 9 weeks annual leave and have accrued over 6 months long service leave. So, right now I'm on holidays and she's working.....someone has to pay the bills. Don't tell her I said that. 🤣🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣

Hi Capt... this is another great video; they get better each time! You have a great ability to interpret the weather, and of picking good 'weather-windows'....Our weather reports in eastern NC are wrong a lot of the time. There are times when they call for bad weather and strong winds, and we get the opposite. Sometimes they call for good weather and we are slammed with storms and strong winds. I still go out anyway, but I'm always willing to turn back if it gets too rough! ☺

Thank you captain and when I'm making these videos I'm always thinking about my viewers so I can share the best experience that I'm having with you guys and yes I agree that the weather sometimes it's not accurate it happens to me all the time but it looks like where you at the cold air and the hot air is not mixing right probably that's what's going on in your area And here we have more warm weather so maybe that's why it's a little different and thank you for coming along this trip captain and for watching you're an awesome viewer of my channel never you safe

Complete silence I totally get it. occasionally hunting you experience it deep off the Main road and no planes flying over. This is actually incredibly you should have 10m viewers

Cpt. Question how do you make sure that your anchor does not get lose when your sleeping in the middle of the night and you don't drift away?
@OutOnTheReef
@OutOnTheReef Жыл бұрын
well i make sure the anchor is well set by placing the boat in reverse till i fell the anchor set well and Garmin chart plotter have a anchor alarm setting that you can set a chose radius and if you go of that radius a alarm will wake me up is a great feature cap.

How do you like West End compared to other parts of the Bahamas? I've kind of heard for fishing and really for things to do ashore it's not as good as Bimini or Abacos. Also I think a couple of your first snappers where blackfin snapper.
@OutOnTheReef
@OutOnTheReef Жыл бұрын
yes you are right cap they ware black fin snappers and i love west end because of the fishing and not alot of people come here so there is alot of peace and quiet 👍😉
