I thought it was only ME that rewound this tune from The Jerry Garcia Band Almost Acoustic album OVER and OVER in my car... and then went out and played it at gigs Apparently not...

Thank you so much. I recognize it's an old post but I play and I will master that song. IMHO it's the best song Jerry ever recorded.

Awesome. So glad I found the more advanced version. Love how you lay it out too.

some of the best from Jerry then laid out for all to practice. I've been playing this one with a fairly easy arrangement that sounds great for a while now but then along comes Mr. Darks and Yea!!! it's back to the studing the video again. Thanks for your effort. It was greatly appreciated. OBTW great Martin. I play a 25 year old Golden Era D-18 that makes this song just ring.

Sounds great. We have started playing this at our shows lately. So fun.

If you learn it, find some friends to play it along with you, then take it to a gig at the local bar and watch 25-50 folks groove to it, then you'll know "Why." And you're welcome. :)

Wasn't a Dead fan - not even close - until I watched and listed to your videos. Particularly Deep Elem Blues. Great song. I'm still not a Dead fan. But I'm a jdarks fan! You do a great job keeping it fun.

Loved your video. Loved the editing of comments with your playing. Loved the cigar smoking personality. I could hear so much Jerry in your performance that it gave me hope. I went to jDarks.com and was gobsmacked by how much stuff you’ve posted. Downloaded the tab for Deep Elem and printed it out. I note that this lesson was posted 13 years ago. Hope you’re OK. Thx for everything, MHC

Great stuff! For jamming folks can play on the standard pentatonic scale in C#. (That's the "relative minor" of the key of E) Thanks for posting this J.

Whatever my inner demons, thank you jdarks for making it even plausible; without you, i'd have no hope. Again i thank you (duhduhduhduh_uhh for a real good time)! ;)
