I think it's basically like a pancake roll that was fried both from the outside and inside, because the butter would (I assume) reach a very high temperature as well, and cook the batter. The butter does drip out after you bite from it once, so what you are left with it kind of like a very buttery and greasy donut/pancake thingy. Definitely not something you wanna eat more than once a year, but it doesn't look bad at all.
