Culver Franchising System, Inc., doing business as Culver's, is a privately owned and operated casual fast food restaurant chain that operates primarily in the Midwestern United States. Culver's opened its first restaurant in 1984 in Sauk City, Wisconsin, and is currently headquartered in Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin. As of 28 March 2018, the chain had 655 restaurants across the United States, and 18 coming soon in 9 states.
History
Sauk City restaurateurs and spouses George and Ruth Culver started their fast food careers as the owners of an A&W on Phillips Boulevard (U.S. Highway 12) in 1961. In 1968, they purchased a resort-styled restaurant at Devil's Lake called The Farm Kitchen. Their son, Craig Culver, worked for a local McDonald's right out of college in 1973. After selling their restaurants and quitting their jobs, George, Ruth, Craig and his wife Lea opened the first Culver’s Frozen Custard and ButterBurgers on July 18, 1984. Craig led the company from its inception until 2015.
In October 2017, Culver's corporation sold a minority share to Roark Capital Group, a private equity firm based in Atlanta, Georgia. The Culver family retains majority ownership.

In 1987, the Culvers were approached about franchising a restaurant in nearby Richland Center. The Culvers agreed, granting the franchisee a loose licensing agreement, charging no fees or royalties. Because the franchisee had invested very little of his own money, it was a simple matter for him to walk away a year later when he decided he no longer wanted to be in the restaurant business.
As a result of this experience, the Culvers established a set of standard franchising procedures that form the basis for those currently used by Culver Franchising System, Inc. Three years later, they tried again in Baraboo and business quickly doubled. Soon after, the increased recognition that the second store earned this small-town chain prompted expansion into the Madison and Milwaukee areas.

I lived in that area my whole life. You had so many better options than Culver’s. You could have driven a few miles in any direction and had any type of food you wanted. You could have found something interesting and new. Culver’s as a pit stop maybe as the main reason pretty damn foolish. Yet again your refusal to do research makes for a weak video. This one especially because Paul and Marc look like they want to be anywhere else in the world 99% of the time.

I really liked Culvers when I lived in Minnesota. That was back in like 98-2001, though. I always got their fries (they had large wedge fries at our location) and a chocolate egg cream. If you're down in Texas again, Ken, I'd recommend hitting up Tornado Burger in Stafford and getting a double patty (spicy) with cheese & bacon. I definitely liked their burgers more than Whataburger.

I’ve been to Culver’s many times and never had a bad experience. It’s actually one of my favorite fast food places. Price wise though it’s high so I usually try to go with a coupon.

I drive down from Port Huron to go to Culver’s at least 2 times a month! Same one too! Edit: It seems like this location may have have a bad day. I suppose with any fast food it’ll will inevitably happen. But I will say it’s definitely on my top list of fast food places. Hopefully next time is will not disappoint.

Ken, I am an avid Wisconsinite viewer. Culvers put many local custard stands out of business, an on going fight in our family. There are true butter burgers in Cheeseland as well as authentic fried curds. Culvers is good, but a visit to Wisconsin might be best.

The cheese curds are white and yellow cheddar. Wisconsin Swiss melt is rye bread The “butter burgers” aren’t cooked in butter. The bun is just buttered. Never ever ever get a single patty, even if you can’t eat a full double. The meat/cheese/condiment ratio is the best as a double. Hope my little Culvers guide helps :)

okay, so like i personally work at culvers and we were good finalist in the crew challenge this year so my recommendation on what i get is sourdough w works yes grilled onion no raw onion curds n try there root beer! also they have lots of sauces like marinara , ranch , honey mustard etc.. that swiss melt is rye bread u where right u can also add extra seasoning to the burgers if asked u can also put bacon on everything . alright now i’m done

The deluxe/bacon deluxe is the only way to go at Culver’s. The other sandwiches seem dry and feel like they just need something extra but the mayo and tomatoes on the deluxe really complete the burger.
