Awesome video, please do more like this. I think micro fishing is going to be my new hobby of 2022. I would love to see a video more in depth about the gear and where to buy micro gear. Keep up the good work I enjoy all your content.
@WildFishTanks2 жыл бұрын
Appreciate the support Dan. I’ll have a couple more Microfishing videos coming out and a lot more Collecting/native based content in general as well

Could you go to spot and toss in fish flake food in same spot for a week straight and then go catch them? Think that would work?

I guess there’s only one way to find out

Not this time but I’ve seen gators there before and since

Once again, I can think of three places this might be, the Econ, Shingle Creek or Green Swamp. Am i right? If you like the black banded darters go back up to Kings Landing and do some netting near the tubing return bridge up by the springs. They are a very aggressive fish in an aquarium.
@WildFishTanks2 жыл бұрын
Correct once again. Yea I remember seeing tons of the black banded darters by Kings Landing. Actually caught my first ever pygmy Sunfish they are as well (my friend did, first time I had ever saw a live one) Just a single male though
@vegaslocal75552 жыл бұрын
Interesting that he uses a line and rod vs a net. Cool vid hopefully no gators / leeches.
@WildFishTanks2 жыл бұрын
Luckily neither. He uses a net sometimes but likes the challenge of hooking them haha

What’s your anti mosquito strategy for these activities?
@WildFishTanks2 жыл бұрын
Typically just long sleeves. Don’t have to worry about spray too often. It depends on the time of year for sure though
@nancydenmark16142 жыл бұрын
I’d be just as concerned about the gator avoidance strategy.

I think microfishing allows you to better catch species that you wouldn't be able to catch with a dip net. Trying to catch fast moving shiners in open water sounds terrible, and that is where hook and line works great. Or you could just seine the entire place, but sometimes seining isn't even a possibility due to terrain or make up of the stream.
@WildFishTanks2 жыл бұрын
That’s a good point. In this case the shiners would’ve been pretty easy to dipnet but the darters not so much with all the debris in the water

whats the point of catching tiny fish
@TheAquariumLibrary2 жыл бұрын
What's the point of keeping aquarium fish? Because it brings happiness into our lives. Catching small fish is no different. Did you hear their excitement when catching those fish?
