FINALLY. I'm relatively new to the sport - been supporting my fiancée's Newcastle for 4 years now since the end of their mid-table era (and now into our Spurs era of felling giants and withering to minnows). I've been playing FM religiously for a couple years now but I've simply never had anything click when it comes to player roles. I felt like I never had a true explanation or graphic no matter how much I researched. I eventually resorted to just downloading recreations of Eddie Howe's 433 since I have an understanding of how it works and tweaking it (read: messing it up) depending on the league while trying to sign players similar to Guimaraes for DLP, Tonali-esque for BBM, Schär-like for BPD, etc. But now I finally feel like I can get it. Funny enough this is my very first video on player roles even though it's your last, because I immediately went to my favorite role to learn about it! I look forward to watching them all. Thank you again, truly. I'm starting a new save with my local Charleston Battery and looking forward to finally building my own tactic and own team.
@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker16 күн бұрын
thank you for taking the time to comment and thank you for kind words :) I had the same issues when I started learning about soccer/football. so means a lot that the videos are helping the same issue. This is the best player role of course haha ;) but hopefuly you like the other player role videos also I've watched some Battery matches..."Charleston Battery" is one of the best team names around, it's so fitting!! what kind of custom database are you using?
@johnbroome560515 күн бұрын
@@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker I use nielsoncp's 10 tier USA database! He's made such an in-depth overhaul of not only the US pyramid but the entire CONCACAF, it's really well done & I highly recommend it for anyone playing in NA. Taking the Battery from 2nd tier to competing against top clubs is my goal! I'm through your midfield videos and onto your striker vids while I play and am 5-1-1 so far in the season building my own 433 from scratch. I can't thank you enough again for helping me not only enjoy FM better but the beautiful game as a whole.

Congratulations on this amazing series. This is the role i use a lot in fm mobile but I've never using it in fm24 😂. Sometimes the dlp and iwb occupies the same space and makes them run at each other. Even tho it says "hold position" ofc he's the playmaker and always find an open space to receive the pass. The formation you use in the video is good tho, similar with I'm using right now. i'm using iwb(s) and maybe that cause the issue because on support he doesn't get further forward. Thanks for all your guide, it helps me a lot when I'm trying a new tactic🙏

@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker yeah if does ive noticed that myself with time, advanced playmaker (mid) just doesnt cut the biscuit for me :) anyway nice job man, ive loved this series, ive picked up tons of advice that im using all the time. I think i told you Im doing a journeyman and im in my third season with Strasbourg, qualified for the champions league, im about 7 games into the third season and im anylalating every team I play, not lost one, I dont have the likes of your Bellinghams and Haalands in my team but won what a team ive got going as far as team work and tactics are concerned, Id go as far as to say its the best ive ever had in all the years playing (im not the kind of player who uses top clubs though, mainly start in low division clubs, I much prefer the challenge) but yeah thanks man, looking forward to what ideas you have next.

Oh im currently using Mezzala, Box to box and Dm in my mid (although used ball winning in that position all last season, my new guy has gets forward whenever though) Santiago Naveda my new guys called 7.20 average rating for me so far, got really good traits for a DM

Greaat vid as always! Was just curious. In mac city system rodri is more of a dlp-d, dlp-s, regista or anchor?

thank you! :) And tbh I'm not sure with Rodri off the top of my head (before he got injured); but I believe a DM(S) would be a pretty good description. Gives him a lot of freedom in that role

Absolutely love your videos, would 'tries killer balls often' be a good player trait or not?
@TheDeepLyingPlaymakerАй бұрын
thanks! and for sure, that would be an excellent trait for the DLP :)

from all roles of playmaking in fm series, only DLP means total control, strong in transition plays in attack and defense
