Icon I love your DF series so much, and your justification for making the magma workshops very much like in old playthroughs but with a great layer of RP to justify the decision. :D The circling back to older ways of doing things but with new knowledge is really satisfying to see put into action. I'm still rooting for you getting adamantine going!

If you haven't already started on the minecarts, dig a single stairway all the way down from your first level, to your last, and then the cart tracks will use cut ramps, taking up 3 tiles in an L config each cardinal direction will be a ramp. Each corner will be a turn.

So like a stairwell down the center, and a spiral all around it for the cart tracks?

The view from this tower is just ruined by all that rock in the way. Increase the land value by strip mining nice sunrises for the tower. ❤

Sounds good in theory, however may turn a little green with all that sunlight and cave adapted dwarves
