Love how Roger gets the Vigier to sound a lot like his old RIckenbacker.
@crazeyjoe5 жыл бұрын
He doesn't need nearly that amount of amp gain with the Vigier compared to the Ric to get that result. With that said, if you ever A/B's the Vigier and a Ric, you would discover that the Vigier has quite more clarity and punchiness in of itself.

One of my favorite bassists...unfortunately, when he is playing with the whole band, I don't get to hear Roger very much...too much competing for his frequency with the lead guitar and the keyboards/organ...
@eugenestoner26857 жыл бұрын
maybe it's because he switched to active bass.

Black (cough cough) night (cough cough)...Gillan needs to at least TRY to look like a rock star.
@MikeBarnett177610 жыл бұрын
John Totten He IS a rock star. Therefore he looks like one. Fuckin' A - how somebody DRESSES doesn't count for SHIT - the performance is what matters.
@mauruskrispie53518 жыл бұрын
+John Totten Gillan did one tour where he wore a Deep Purple tee shirt and a pair of track suit bottoms every night. Another where he came out in white cotton robes looking like a religious guru. His on stage dress sense has become more eccentric with age.

Please note that I won't accept personal insults. I also disagree with the opinion of Tomasz Sidorski but that's no reason to attack him personally. I just deleted two postings and hope that won't be necessary again. Thanks.

Saw Purple last night and although they've done well to re-jig the set to cover for the fact that Gillan's lost his upper range, I couldn't help wishing that they'd just get on with it a bit more live. Endless keyboard and guitar solos. Does a short, snappy song like Hush really need a load of noodling in the middle? And although Morse is good player and a great guy it seems, his playing just doesn't excite me in the way that Blackmore's did.
@callmekarlos61845 жыл бұрын
"Endless keyboard and guitar solos" It's Deep Purple for god's sake! Since Morse joined, a lot of people kept moaning about them doing so little instrumental passages. For the last few years they've done more and more jams, but now it's not right either.
