Glenn's point that hiring Tommy was a bold move, I feel is the most important insight here....In retrospect, it was a master stroke not just to go for the obvious choice: a Blackmore clone...I think there's a lesson to be had, which is take the road less traveled, and that makes all of the difference..Great to hear Jon give this wonderful album its rightful due...Wish David n Ian could have participated as well.

Well- I think Tommy Bolin has a charakter and a playing style witch confirms Deep Purple to absolutly Mark IV. Sorry Steve Morse- no on does it better as Ritchie and Tommy! Hear the souls of these guitarrist! I was sad as I saw a concert with Steve Morse. No soul- only techniques - gejaule "chiiehjahhliiie".
