Always nice to see how young people react to this brilliant band. An absolute masterpiece of Deep Purple is Lazy - live in Japan 1972 from the absolute best live album of all times - Made In Japan (1972). Greetings from Austria

Amazing. Deep Purple were the best. And still are. They were The first. Led zep and Sabbath came after Purple. The most amazing musicians Ritchie being a guitar god, and the greatest rock guitarist ever. He has it all. The technical skills of a classical guitarist. The improvisation of a jazz guitarist and the feel of a blues player. Amazing playing. 👍

They are awesome live, great tune that is not as popular, but worth a listen now and then. For one of their best, try them at the California Jam 1974 and You Fool No One. Ritchie erupts with one of his best solos after Jon Lord has some time to shine. Great performance you would love. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶

The term heavy metal was first used to describe Jimi Hendrix but for me I think the first heavy metal/head banging band is Black Sabbath. Deep purple on the other hand is for me a hard rock rhythm and blues tight band not so much on the heavy metal/head-banging aspect. Led Zeppelin on the other hand is unique in that they literally synthesized a new kind of music which could not be directly linked to any of the music that was being played at the time.
@ninoorjon Жыл бұрын
@@zephead4835 Surprisingly, I don't remember anyone headbanging in Black Sabbath but in Deep Purple Gillan actually was shaking his head. 😊And Led Zeppelin has no live recordings practically, because all live recordings are edited in the studio, which is surprising for the best live band.

That period in my young adulthood was invaluable to me as a growing musician thanks to them.They made me wanna be better and for that I am forever in their debt.💕🤘 Love me some PURPLE 🟣💜🎸

That was just their warm up song. And I could tell Ian Gillan's voice wasn't warmed up yet, but it still sounded good, and improved as he went. Purple songs like this (and Speed King and some others) were particular influences on metal, and hard rock in general.

OK, it's time to step into a new Rabbit Hole. This band was from California but moved to Georgia but here is the kicker, Every member of this band are siblings. Two sisters and three brothers. This first song I really think you should hear is a cover of a Dio called Holy Diver. Now the catch is this. I am 64 years old and have an ear for music and this band blew me away. The band is LILIAC and you have to really check them out. Oh just to be honest I'm not a big fan of this kind of music but they are just that good. If you check this one out I will hit you with my kind of music, and yes the first song of my kind of music will be a live version.

I don't want to be that person but you should listen to the studio versions of the songs that you feature on your channel. They are almost always better than the live versions. There is one exception to that rule of course in that is Led Zeppelin's in My Time of dying.

You definitely need to check out the live 1976 version of Freebird by Lynyrd Skynyrd. Most people react to the 1977 live version but the 1976 version is better with more focus on the performers rather than the audience, both are excellent however.

I'm a die hard fan of Deep Purple, there is a reason great bands have lots of songs, to slip some fillers in-between the good and the great ones, pains me to admit that this song doesn't resonate with me at all like 98.9% of all their others.

I love this, all the instruments are out and Gillan is flat as hell. He tries to find pitch and gets closer but who cares? You can see the rig, did ANY singers hear themselves in 1970? This is why the Beatles bailed in 1966. Whats the point? Its not music any more.

Great song choice but there are better versions than this one. Deep Purple was great live band, but listen every song studio version first, than you can enjoy the live versions better. One of the best bands ever, revolutionary playing style, difficult fast (and slower) tempos, impossible to hold that dynamic and drive playing it live, even for the great musicians like those guys were. Their songs were written like a classical music, every note matters to really understand it…
