This album never received the recognition it deserves. It's one of my favorite Purple albums. Absolutely excellent, and this concert is a great capture of it. Interesting that they started with Burn, and certainly drove it home. Saw Coverdale do it when DP toured for that album, and this take is hands-down better. Thank you for the post.

Slaves and Masters was the First album that I've listened to Purple. After this one I've got Machine Head and In Rock. So I like this album and Joe Lynn Turner a lot. Great singer and very good vibes. Respect! 😁🤘🏻🥃🎸

I love Deep purple, Blackmore, JLT and this AWESOME album , another thing , JLT sang Coverdale songs and the crow appreciatted that since Gillan refused to do it , JLT ststed before the tour " We ( Deep Purple) belong to the fans, they pay the tickets and they deserve and expect the best , we are going to give them that", thats JLT extremely humble , down earth guy.

Thank you so much for posting this video! It was my first DP concert, unforgettable! Now I can confront my memories with the real picture and sound and I must admit, Deep Purple with Joe Lynn Turner did a great job, and a great album too. I remember I bought it there (a Czech edition by Popron!) Purple, when they have a good day (and they had one in Ostrava) make magic on stage. Great show, beautiful memories. Coming from Katowice, Poland to Ostrava by train. It was cold like hell, but the show was so hot! Thanks again for posting this gem. ❤

I saw Mike Tramp at a gig in the UK about 5 years ago. He spoke honestly about the fact that Blackmore was tortured by the fact that he let Dio go and replaced him with GB, looking to take Rainbow to a more commercial market. Dio was class and the best Rainbow vocalist by far.

The one about Dio I always remember because he had nothing but love for him and he wasn't disrespectful of Blackmore, you knew he was telling the truth, no reason not too.

Ritchie’s biggest hindrance was ALWAYS himself. He always wanted something, worked hard to get it, then sabotaged it whenever he got it. More importantly, he was jealous of every singer that he ever performed with. Loved them at the beginning, then fell out with them over petter reasons.

I think Roger did an okay job playing it. I think he mistook the solo for the bridge section (hence the D key at the start). And the progression to C that he ignored at the 7th bar is, well, pretty much negligible, lol. JLT's lyrics were abysmal though.

I _am_ a Joe Lynn Turner supporter. He is my second favorite Rock singer, after Roger Daltrey. I initially did not know he was even in DP and when I eventually found out he was, I thought that he could not be comparable to Ian Gillan singing the MKII songs. I was wrong! The more that I listen to the JLT era Purple, the _more_ I like it.

JLT is at his best with ballads. In my opinion Gillan never was, until recently. Coverdale, on the other hand, always handled both the rockers and the softer material with grace.

So true! It’s a real testament to Joe’s ability as a singer that he did a better job on the Dio-era Rainbow songs than anyone else who ever sang that stuff with Ritchie. Doogie was good, too, but I’d have to give the edge to JLT, a truly great singer who can still deliver.

JLT sang a hundred times better with DP then he did with Rainbow. Always felt his voice was a little thin and weak during Rainbow,, especially live. But here and other live clips I've heard he sounds great. Lots of power and grit in his voice. That along with the melody he's always had makes for a good listen.

Great job by Joe Lynn turner. Him and Ritchie belong together. From their days in Rainbow. And so many years later. They must get along ok. I don't remember Ritchie bringing back too many former singers.
