Another great video, Nick. What a sick song; love that first min-bridge and how they extend it the second time around, plus... just two choruses! Who says you have to keep repeating those to get an ear worm. All this and two guitar solos and two keyboard solos, all in less than 4 minutes. What a band.

Although Jazz is my first love, I've always been a Deep Purple Fan. It was my favorite band in my teen years, the 1970s. I stopped paying attention to Rock and Roll in 1985 when I stopped playing music for a living. I haven't bought very much new Rock at all since then. But, I actually love the latest lineup of Deep Purple enough to buy an actual Rock album. I loved Jon Lord's Organ as much as Blackmore's guitar, even though Tenor Saxophone is my main instrument. Looks like your reaction video sold me enough to subscribe! Will check out more of your videos.

we all have days like in the words of the song ! DP still Kings of rock (-:
Fantastic song and still as quintessentially Purple as anything from Ritchie's days in the band. What impresses me is that they still tour and put out new albums and aren't just resting on their laurels and past glories. As sad the reasons were for Steve Morse to leave the band they have a top notch replacement in Simon McBride.

I really like this. The song is crisp, tight, excellent arrangement, excellent performance from everyone. Is it me or is big Ian sounding the best he has in many years? I have been following Purple since 1968. The sound is very reminiscent of mk2 from the 1970s. I See Simon is using Engl amps which Ritchie switched to in the 90s. I like how Don did a little quote from Jon in his solo (from Jon's live work). I wasn't sure if Purple should continue after Steve left. But, my doubts have been put to rest. Purple is rocking! Ezrin has done it again. He really is a good fit for Purple. He knows how to get the best out of them. (I like that Paicey is using the Deep Purple logo from the early 70s on his bass drum). Can't wait for the album release.

I don't understand the negative comments below. This is the freshest DP have sounded in years. I love your breakdowns of the three releases from the forthcoming album, which I have ordered. If makes me appreciate all the nuances of the playing and the great chemistry there is between the musicians. For many years I thought "Without Ritchie and Jon" DP can't really be DP" but I was wrong. Don and Simon have got beautiful styles of playing and well compliment the original members. There is a retro vibe but also something new and this is a real achievement. I last felt this good about a band when I heard the Rolling Stones' "Hackney Diamonds", the best thing they have done in years. Have DP and the Stones been taking Viagra because I feel young just listening to their latest songs. PS - I first discovered DP in 1974 and the first gig I went to was DP who were promoting "Come Taste The Band" with the late Tommy Bolin.

This new song immediately reminded me of the flavor of the Gillan band….finally a hard blues song with non-obvious passages, as only Deep Purple can do, and they haven’t Ian Paice sets his drums on fire like I haven’t heard since Abandon done for years!! great performance by Don, but the small passage of chords he makes to connect the verse to the bridge is something he has already played in several previous Deep songs, perhaps he could have "hided" it a bit with a different arrangement...or that The harmony came from someone else's pen, but still overused in the viola repertoire of recent years.

Hi Nick. I actually have a question, not sure if this is the correct place. I bought a used Hammond XK-5. They keys at the top "C, C#, D, D#" (under the percussion) are very loud. It's as if there's no cushioning under the keys. If I play softly, I don't notice, but if I put a moderate amount of weight into my playing, it's very loud and the keys bang against the keybed. I'm in Sydney, Australia, where there are seemingly no organ specialists. Is this issue normal for a Hammond? Should I be concerned? Is it ok to open up the Hammond and look inside? Thank you kindly. I love your channel.

A really well done song and the guitarist is great for his solos. My one criticism is that the older looking guys in the band do little to convince me that they are revved up and burning with passion. They look cool with the leather, but there are no crazy antics that would suggest an attitude of defiance or aggression. Another irony is that the song travels around a lot with its arrangement, but I can't think this is the work of a lazy sod. It's too busy and precise to be born out of laziness (though I thought I'd hear a passing reference to their old song Lazy). Maybe there is a self-flattery in the band's mind that this song really reflects the laziness of the band and that if they really did work at it, this song would pale in comparison to the new non-lazy version. I see you reaching over behind you and playing along effortlessly, so I'm not thinking this song is that much of a challenge. Possibly it was born out of laziness. Who knows! And God knows how the audience might see it. Overall, it's a decent rock song. I'm impressed with the guitarist mostly and that the older rocks are looking that good for their age. Incidentally, there is that keyboard part that sounds like YES. I don't know why they would bring that in when they had their old song, Lazy? Maybe they were too lazy to do Lazy?
