playing piano on the Hammond looks strange... but it's a good option for touring instrument

Great video! I have my M-solo for six months now and use it mainly in the studio because I don't like to play Hammond with plugins. You can adjust the key click, leakage and virtual multi contacts with the system button, but you probably already know this. Bought it as a Hammond of course, but also use the string ensemble and synth in productions! Everything is so hands-on and that's actually what I love so much about this little instrument! Had an SK1 before this one for 10 years, but not having the virtual multi contacts made me want to sell it and now i'm still really happy with this one! Hope to see some added instruments in the future, probably via a firmware update, which is also very easy to do and without any hassle!

Hi Nick, I REALLY like this video, the DEXIBEL" organ sounds - at least for my untrained ears - pretty "Hammond-alike"! A shoot-out between a REAL Hammond and some clones ( PLEASE also include the "Ferrofish") would be great! Of course, you should always play the same "riff" on the various keyboard(s)- preferably a Jon Lord/Deep Purple riff - during this shoot-out. I'd also LOVE to learn more about Rick Wakeman's organ sound! Greetings from Germany!

Thanks Nick, really interesting instrument. Seems a bit difficult to navigate perhaps, but some great sounds. Like the key click, not too in your face as are some. Leslie sim seems pretty good barring that slow old bass rotor, but that seems common. But as it seems to be marketed towards the piano market the organ seems good to me. Looking forward to the next section. I’ve never found Dexibell to be a very inspiring name for a keyboard, probably doesn’t matter much though. Cheers!

Not so bad, percussion ok, other should compare with the Mojo, don't know if it pass the Test 😁

I am not convinced. The "Hammond" sounds rather sterile and lifeless, the motorised faders are a gimmick in my opinion and the user interface doesn't seem to be that intuitive like Nord's or Yamaha's equivalents.
@ulm36653 күн бұрын
You can't immagine how versatile und customisable the Dexibell is! I own a S9 and it's unbelievable. If you don't like the sound, just upload the one you prefer for free. T2L is a technology opens you nearly endless possibilities. Test it!!

Hi Nick, Back in the day, I didn’t take spares to gigs as my M102 and 122 were relatively new (I am that old), but it did take a frequently use a mains extension lead. Something I did learn to take was a set of safety pins after an incident carrying the Hammond upstairs at a venue when I split my trousers from front to belt. That was a draughty one. Cheers.

I remember watching this as a kid in my bedroom on tv. Didn’t know who any of the bands were. Years later quite by chance I bought my first album and I had no idea who the band was or what kind of music they played but I liked the cover art… it was Burn by Deep Purple. Thus began a lifelong love affair with all things Deep Purple and Ritchie Blackmore

Not my cup of tea! For ME it's just another Rhodes clone with some added hard-to-use sounds... But ...isn't it all a matter of personal taste? I prefer a keyboard with a great DYNAMIC Piano Sound, a "natural" "Pianet-Sound" would be a great add-on"! As long as I can get the three basic sounds ("Real "Piano", Rhodes, Hohner-Pianet) I am happy!! NO, "I" don't a want/need the seventh clone/variation of the Rhodes piano, because I doubt that the audience will recognize the difference! But if you are one of the few "weekend warriors" who earn a lot of money a! Neverthelrss thank you for the demonstration!t every gig, then I recommend that you invest part of the money in "original instruments" (and a "roadie")

Jack of all trades (Legend) vs the master of 1️⃣ one.(Rhodes)🎹 I felt a bit embarrassed for the Legend when it attempted the Rhodes sounds whilst actually sitting on top of a Rhodes stage piano. How embarrassing for the Legend when you started to play the Rhodes. A lot of the other sounds were quite nice but I've never heard a Hammond piano or a Hammond organ with piano type hammer action but hey, the Legend has created one. 🤔 I Loved this video and the Rhodes Stage Piano🎹 👍👍👍

About your a/b switch ... If you use that, you can't use the 11 pins, can you ? So, what do you do ? I was waiting for a studio12 cable to pop up ...

You can use the 11 pin for just fast/slow if you want, and send the signal though the 1/4” jack

@@nickfoley7348 ah. I just bought the leslie2101 mk2 , and I can't stop the drawbars from going through the 11 pins... Maybe it's just me, still figuring out how to set it up. Which is why I asked - I was just about to buy the same a/b switch, and then I thought, no, that won't work. And now I ordered the studio12 cable.

Í have had the VR09 for many years and if it wasn´t for the other sounds than organ Í would have sold it. There is not much warmth, the lesley sim mediocre and the overdrive is quite bad. Percussion and key click nót very good either. But otherwise this is a versitale and well laid-out board with many good sounds. To me my Nord NE6d sounds á lot better
