Been a Deep Purple fan for 50 years. The Mk 2 lineup was just an amazing band. Perfect Strangers was a Mk 2 reunion, for one album. One of the best for sure. Ian Paice, on drums, is the only remaining original member from 1968.

For my money Perfect Strangers is the best "comeback" album of all time. Wish Ritchie could have kept his shit together so there would have been more product from the Mark II lineup. If you ever do entire album reviews this should be near the top of the list. Enjoyed it as always. \m/\m/

Matthew Black Love ...Hard lovin Woman and Bad Attitude ( I’ve often thought that the template for the latter is Jailbreak by Thin Lizzy but slowed down) Ritchie briefly recorded with their singer, with a view to forming a power trio. He was a fan 😀

It wasn't ALL Ritchie Blackmore's fault. Gillan disliked R.B.'s Girlfriend/future wife, and always had a secret hatred for Blackmore himself. Real LIFELONG fans, know the WHOLE truth, before they post it!

Saw them too that tour, in Flint MI at a high school football field right downtown in the middle of a neighborhood. I bet people that lived around the field that had to get up early the next morning were pissed. Yeah, the show was done by 11PM, but still, if you have to get up at 4AM for your job...

Doug Nelsin Have a great time. A few years ago I saw them play with an orchestra in a large arena. It was pretty much sold out so I was surprised that there were 2 seats in the middle of the front row available not long before the show. First time for me, though I’d seen them every tour since 72’. Great to watch Steve Morse close up. Such a nice guy and no one could have been better for the band. He made sure a young kid near me got one of his plectrums. I got one too. I play guitar, so it’s much valued and used.

Deep Purple are my rock gods rite behind Led Zepplin. Anything Purple is fantastic. ENJOY!One thing that blew me away with there last album ,it came with a dvd. Is that the band writes the music and then Ian Gillian comes up with the lyrics to fit the music. That just blows me away! I saw them 2018 and they were amazing.

Aside from this song being great (from a totally amazing album!), as music does, it takes me back to '84 when it came out and who my friends were back then. A total happy feeling when I hear this! Thank you. (btw, I always enjoyed your pre & post video commentary. That was half the fun of this experience with you! So, hopefully, any negative comments you had doesn't discourage you from continuing on with a formula that worked (at least, for me!)). All the best.

I can't ever think of this song as "Perfect Strangers" anymore because I saw Purple on this tour (amongst a few times I've seen them) and Ian G introduced this song, jokingly, as being about a football (soccer) team called the "Perfect St. Rangers" and that's all I can think of every time I hear it. All versions of Purple that I've seen have been brilliant but this Mk II lineup is easily one of the greatest bands in rock history. I still miss that glorious sound of a Hammond organ through Leslie cabs. RIP Jon.

First time i watched you guys - it happens to be one of my favourite songs from DP, and it is great to find out that younger generations pick up on the master pieces from the past! Like the "TOOL" T-shirt (and the group) and i am a great fan of them, too - but all the newcomer bands needed an idol in that time when they developed and formed, so it will be always a band of the '60s or '70s they mainly focus on! Long live Rock, for generations to come!

This was the reunion of the MK II classic lineup. The video was perfect IMO as it showed them reuniting after many years apart and the song and the video were just a perfect setup. This was the first song release (as far as I know) and was an MTV World Premiere video. MTV back in the day was the primary source for music videos and they made a big deal about World Premiere videos as competition started to pop up. I remember the anticipation for this video and song and it did not disappoint. So, it's important for me as the context of the video is perfect.
