Great that you play some of the later Blackmore stuff. Well done!

Thanks Mirko! You know I like the 70s and the 90s. There are great stuff in the 80s too I am just not that great playing and making them sound good enough.

@@DogwithtwoBones yeah Ritchie’s playing style changed in these years. In my opinion his 90ies playing is very hard to cover because it’s so technically good.

The only regret about this song is that it couldn't become a classic like Highway Star, Lazy, SOTW and others... because it was only played on the last tour with Blackmore. It had all the potential to become a great classic: power and musicality!
@DogwithtwoBones11 ай бұрын
I totally agree! But then again Blackmore leaving gave us the Stranger in us all Rainbow album which I personally like better than Battle Rages on. The album I mean. I love this and some other songs just not the entire album like I usually do.
@Vigilius6011 ай бұрын
@@DogwithtwoBones Strangers in us all is a great album; album to which I am particularly fond also because that tour was the only opportunity I had to see him live with Rainbow: unforgettable, he was in great shape!

@@DogwithtwoBonesSaw him live with Purple in 93, with Rainbow in 95 and 96, with BN around 2003 I think. The Purple an Rainbow concerts were AMAZING, BN not so much.

Another awesome riff by Ritchie~!~! (I've never heard song before) Rhythm guitar is awesome and what we play the most, and he's playing incredibly interesting stuff before a 'solo' even happens. Great inspiring lesson, and man ...that heavy Stratocaster tone is so good, articulate and dynamic.
@DogwithtwoBones8 ай бұрын
I agree it is worth listening sharply for the rhtyhm in any Blackmore song, he often plays incredible stuff before the solos too.

Nice mini lesson. I’m taking out the Strat now and cranking up the amp.

It will always be the Fire Dance riff, but it sounds better and heavier slowed down in this song. This is a good resource for people looking to learn.
@DogwithtwoBones11 ай бұрын
Thanks! I like it slower too. Good example that “throw away” licks can grow into awesome songs.

@@DogwithtwoBones yes like the part of Make Your Move that was actually from a song that didn’t make it on to fireball i believe it was.

I’d love to but I cannot make a backing track for it unfortunately. However I am available to teach it on a zoom/skype lesson.

You know what you’re missing? Solos off of Green Bullfrog. Those are as good as anything RB ever did. He had the black 68 strat and major and sounded so great. He had to play well because the other guys were albert lee who rb was intimidated by and big jim sullivan - his old teacher
@DogwithtwoBones11 ай бұрын
Whi wouldn’t be intimidated by albert lee?! :D i actually really like his country stuff but anyways I am intimidated by the stuff on green bullfrog. Super fast madness in a good way.

Why such a pick angle when playing? It should be 45 degrees
@DogwithtwoBones11 ай бұрын
I mainly pick like this for the tone I'd like to hear, but depending on what I need I change the angle, for speed or string changes for example.
