Danny, hearing you talk about grief is weirdly comforting, to be honest. Two years ago my Dziadek (Polish for grandpa) died, and my family still has times when we feel sad about his passing. Hell, I still remember my Uncle coming over to me after I woke up to tell me that he died. I remember the funeral, sobbing while eating his favorite food: Polish sausage. And, I think that hearing another person talking about how they are feeling during grief can be helpful to others, and I thank you for sharing your feelings and experience with us. And, I think something very important to keep in mind, for everyone reading this, people grieve in different ways. When my parent, sibling, and I arrived at the hospital at (almost) 12:00am, we were cracking jokes right next to this dying person. But that's just how my family and I cope with feelings/emotions, and that's ok. Any way of coping with emotions, as long as it helps you, is ok. If you want to scream and cry, that's ok. Lock yourself in your room all day and do whatever you want? That's ok. Act like everything is fine as long as you can accept what happened? That's ok. Use humor/dark humor as a way to cope? That's ok. As long as you are doing what you can that's ok.
