I saw Deep Sea Diver open for Conor Oberst and The Mystic Valley Band back in 2008 and have lightly follow them ever since. They make some way good music and have really stepped it up since I saw them. Way too underrated for sure.

+Pan Damasque I agree, even after one song I was like "Woah the bass player is doing some funky stuff in there"...... The drummer is strong as what he does, love the tambourine top he has. I am meaning NO NEGATIVITY when I say the singer is the least talented of the band. Those guys kick it hard and the lyrics are good. Overall I like this band I wanna get some of their music here and roll down the highway in the sunlight listening to some.

This band is full of energy, individual best efforts and team work. They sound amazing in live. I do agree with Kevin, Secrets is my instant fav for this year. I know this is just March, but the album is so good!

That semi hollow Fender guitar is cool. They’re called Fender Starcaster and were only made back in the 70’-80’s. You can’t find one for less than $4000 these days.

I watched her rig rundown video on the Premier Guitar channel this morning (First time I heard about her, too!), and I was surprised to hear her say the Starcaster was quite a heavy guitar! I would've expected it to be as light as an ES335! I haven't tried one yet but have always been intrigued; Good thing there are now more affordable versions than the original :-)

She should try to use a little compression on her live vocals if possible - to balance the volume out. A little reverb and/or delay wouldn't hurt either.... Awesome otherwise!

The way he's hitting those drums would have triggered the compressor on her mic way before her voice would have. KEXP are renowned for their great mixes so I reckon this is the best they could do with what they had. Perils of recording live bands in a small space.
