Amazing, this is what deep sea exploration should be like. Cutting edge, professional scientists that adhere to real oceanography and safety. The OceanGate Titan was a ToysRUs junk compared to the Limiting Factor sub. Victor is truly a great person, a professional oceanographer, not cocky or arrogant at all. The Limiting Factor sub is the real deal, and DNV GL certified to 11,000 meters, while utilizing cutting edge sub construction components, engineering, technology and operations, unlike OceanGrate.

Feel like this team could find MH370 if they really wanted too. They have the tech and the team.

I hope they give it a shot. But they’ll need some idea of a starting point.

It would be so cool to see what Point Nemo is like, especially with all the decommissioned space vehicles there.

I'm utterly facinated with the deep Ocean. It's legitimately a alien planet environment ON OUR OWN PLANET. I really hope to see advanced LIDAR, IR, UV scanning technology ROV's. So we can create vividly detailed 3d computer rendered scans of our oceans. I've always been curious about brine pools, underwater cave systems, hydrothermal vents, cold seeps, then all the diverse types of habitats and learning about the vast biodiversity that exists throughout our oceans. Bioluminescence, you name it. I'm 33 and im still as curious and facinated with it as I was when I was a kid learning about it. Exploring is just so fun and nature/geology is just so fun to learn about. Nature never ceases to amaze me.

New subscriber and think your team work is fantastic and valuable for all. Not only are vital mapping research being undertaken the research to the fish is incredible. Not only that you could find answers to missing planes as an example the research to our planets seas is needed. Just cause we can’t see things it doesn’t mean we don’t need to know more about the environment

Kate von Krusenstiern, that name has some oceanographic history to it. I had a huge poster of the sailing ship Krusenstiern on my wall as a kid.

With the gut microbiome research, how do you avoid the bait contaminating the microbiome? Is it physically isolated post preservation, or do you just accept contamination and filter out the "known" flora from the data?

As cool as these videos are to watch, i fail to see how any of this data will benefit us on the surface of the earth. Still, i enjoy watching to see what sea life lives down in Davey's Locker.

at last a half descent video with sound, i just watched the set of Ring of Fire videos and was a little disappointed with them, i am of course interested in what is down there as well as the Triton sub, not just interviews with staff etc and seeing views of the sub etc on the surface the research you are doing is very valuable, i find the mapping particularly interesting, and in light of current events, finding missing people, boats, ships and other craft including aircraft could be vital in this insane time in our technicalities - while it seems way easier to communicate with space craft millions of miles away, perhaps we better begin using some NASA tech to subs and aircraft in order to locate faster i find the camera technology slightly old fashioned, and ask the question, with micro electronics why not change everything to ceramic, it would last a lot longer in extreme environments, a company i worked for began using it in the 80's and i'm sure is wider used in applications now especially military applications, it is probably expensive but not as expensive as it was in the 80's, i'm sure it is achievable and you might be able to replace the air for a silicon based oil or something
