I feel her movies portray a post colonial narrative, creating a poor image of the brown man, making them look undesirable and unattractive even to the brown women in the films, with the brown woman fawning over the white men. It's been done to many minorities in Hollywood. I didn't realise this when I was younger and watching her movies, but looking back on it, you see the subtext. Making the white man look more desirable as a partner.
