Deepak Chopra and his teachings are not "evil" or "dangerous". I went to church for decades and parochial school. I KNOW AND LOVE the Bible. It guided me growing up, still does and always will. Deepak Chopra helps interpret what is going on in our world and makes perfect sense as he elaborates on the teachings of Jesus in THE LANGUAGE OF TODAY. He has NEVER been in conflict with the Bible. People cling to their old concepts of what the Bible is saying. Deepak is using modern language.

I am a "born again" Christian... Read Deepak's book "The Third Jesus" If you can do that with an open mind without prejudging based on what you Christian indoctrination has taught you then you will see that what he is purported holds much truth. I have not read the book he is speaking of here but I am familiar with his view of Jesus and who he was and what He wanted us to know. I do intend to read this book because what Deepak says resonates in my deepest being as truth. I hope you will too

Well, I agree with at least one of Deepak's assertions about Jesus. Since Jesus said he wants us to learn to love everyone - even our enemies - then obviously he wants us to develop the same kind of loving mindset that he carries toward all of humanity. In the Bible, you never hear Jesus say anything that reflects a motivation of: "What's in it for me?" As far as I know, everything that came out of his mouth was focused on helping others. I've always had this "unusual" urge inside me that I wanted to learn to love all of humanity, like Jesus and others have done and likely still do (meaning that there are other "souls" here on earth who have learned to love at an extremely heightened capacity, perhaps close to Jesus' level). Since I began my spiritual journey a decade or so ago, this feeling has only gotten stronger. And it feels like I am making a lot of progress. I don't even get angry any more at all the callous and harmful things some people do to others. I just feel sad for them that they are trapped in such a negative mindset of selfishness, indifference and even hate for others. And I try to always help others with kindness and encouragement, and don't lash back at others who lash out at me. I think that seriously following Jesus' admonition for us to learn to deeply love one another is a very noble road to follow in our lives, and will make the world a better place each and every time someone new embarks on this spiritual path. Cheers.

Correct you are. I had a spiritual awakening six months ago whereby I was given the gift of unconditional love. I was competely transformed by the event but in it had the epiphany that Jesus and I had been given the same gift. As a consequence of unconditional love I also learned forgiveness and acceptance. Before this spiritual awakening occured I was agnostic and didn't think that this type of love was truely possible within me. Nor did I ever think I could forgive some men for the horrible things they've done to women I've known in my life. I was wrong. Both unconditional love for all of humanity and forgiveness is possible. I'm living proof. A poem I wrote the day my life changed.... This love that is pretty pretty rare....doesn't need to be. This love is missing from the world. This love can change things. But only the people that accept this love will receive it. As much as it pains me. Stop, done. The day this change occured was when in the depths of a depression(brought on by pure humility) the likes of which I had never seen. My heart/soul/god asked me to surrender to unconditional love. I did and it's a choice everyone can make.

Tim Flagler Wow! It is fantastic that it happened for you all at once like that. For me, it has been more of a gradual process and I'm still not all the way there yet. But I'm going to keep at it until I get there. My hope for you is that this new loving awareness you have acquired (or has been given to you) has fixed itself permanently within the depths of your soul. It really would be sad if it gradually started to go away. So I wonder if this is something that you have to maintain over time - via daily contemplation/meditation - or once you have acquired it, it remains with you, permanently, without any further effort. If you want to, I would like to hear from you again and let me know how this experience unfolds for you in the future. Like a month from now are you still going to feel the same way you do now? Maybe I could learn a thing or two from your experience and know what to expect. Either way, I am very happy for you! Cheers.
@fragitude9 жыл бұрын
***** Well thanks! Frankly I was more shocked than anyone that it happened to me given my scientific disposition. I do believe that the power of an event like what occured with me can not be forgotten. This happened to me back in January and since it occured I've spent every free moment of every day contemplating and reflecting on the significance of it. My friends and family all thought I had gone crazy because in the first week I gave away 95% of my material objects aside from cloths I could fit in my car. They were worried I was suicidal(because of giving away of my things) when the reality was actually quite the opposite. I had never felt better in my entire life. While I didn't realize it at the time, reflection and research on my state of mind during the first month was that I was living in the present moment to an extream degree. Accepting unconditional love into my heart had sent me rocketing into the "Eternal Now". The illusion of past and future no longer existed to me and all worries were erased from my heart. Even death was no longer to be feared because I was one with God. I've come down from the clouds so to speak because it's not practical in todays society to actually truely live in the present moment. Eckart Tolle seems to have had a similar experience to what occured with me and he talks about the power of now. During my awakening I also wrote about "Being given the gift of a mirror into my soul" within the first week. When I Googled "Mirror into my soul" I discovered a book called "The Mirror of Simple Souls" written by a women that was burned at the stake in 1310. In it Marguerite Porete describes how a soul can become united with God through love. I had never heard of this book before this spiritual awakening happened to me. However it basically confirmed my experience as well as Deepak's premise here that we can be just as Jesus was. Some people today call it awakening to Christ consiousness. I wish you the best on your spiritual journey and am happy to give updates. :)

Chopra misquoted the New Testament. In John's gospel, Jesus didn't say he was "a" son of God, like Chopra said. Jesus said he was THE Son of God. And the Jews didn't say Jesus was making himself "a" god like Chopra alleged. They said [you] make yourself God. Lastly, Jesus didn't become enlightened. He was born enlightened, because he was God. @siriuslili the gospels were written between 50 and 90 AD and all new testament historians say the nag hammadi texts were later pseudepigraphical writings by the gnostics in order to try to remake Jesus into an esoteric philosopher which is why essentially no New testament historians use these as sources for the life of the historical Jesus I mean I guess you haven't looked at the majority of new testament scholarship

However, like I said it is the consensus among new testament scholarship that Mark and probably Matthew were being circulated in the 50's AD

@JohnnyPeacemaker Firstly, Luke wrote his gospel before he wrote Acts. While writing Acts he traveled with Paul. Because we know Paul was imprisoned 62 AD we can accurately date Lukes gospel to before 62 ad. Luke used material from Mark's gospel which shows that Mark's gospel was circulating in the 50's AD so you assertion is completely unfounded.

Deepak you never understood jesus he quotes john 10:33 but in john 10 : 34 Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I said, you are gods’? 35 If he called them gods to whom the word of God came-and Scripture cannot be broken . it is in psalm 82 where " gods" were called to judges and to those whom moses elected representative of him in exodus. and in john 10:35 it says gods to whom word of God (capital G) came i.e moses and other prophets. Not every human is 'gods". You say gods are enlightment has conciousness as budha but psalm 82:5 says these gods(judges) have no knowdledge and trying to judge people for their sinful way at that context of psalm 82. There is only one God (Elohim). why would jesus says I AM THE ONLY WAY TO FATHER in john 14:6. If all are gods. ignorant dont fall in traps of devil. do you know what happens when ordinary one claims to be The God? read ezekiel 28:2,6-9 and you know about how lucifer fell when he want to be like God. and about herod how he was struck down because he exalted himslef as God(ACTS 12:21-23) and there will be one coming in future that man of sin who will introduce 666. he will also be thrown into lake of fire. Repent you mormons,newage,alien believers,pathiest these is just a way of satan decieving and its his old way how he trapped adam and said you will be like him(God) when you eat this fruit. and same here repent read the whole Gospel first with willing heart and prayer you will get to know Jesus is God.

I was waiting for the crunch line but it didn't come",how was Jesus, like The Buddha, Enlightened?" Thats what we wish to know,not Obama,Obama is not an Enlightened Being. A good man maybe thats all.. Answer: Jesus realised he wasn't Jesus the person because that is simply mind conditioning. a story of "me" its just an idea,the ego self develops from a young age and thats what we identify with, its a false person. So like the Buddha he became a "no one",egoless, but at the same time he was everything,Enlightened, Pure consciousness. He was always Enlightened,as we are too,we just need to recognise our true nature,Which cannot be described but it can be known. And the ego self doesn't want to die,not that it was anything in the first place just an idea. I can hear the protests.......but I tell the truth. Jesus told the same truth but they didn't understand.....you are not who you think you are.

@siriuslili Secondly, I don't think Gnostic or Esoteric beliefs are bad. They're quite interesting but they still aren't true in general but especially not when put in the context of Judaism and Christianity. The Gnostics tried to force fit their philosophy and piggyback it on the most influential person in human history so when someone takes the gnostic gospels as accurate or more accurate then the synoptic gospels then i simply want to inform them of the facts.

Dear Deeppak Chopra, I would like to offer you a different approach to your philosophy concerning who you are and what makes you what you until you reach the ability in your own heart and mind to govern your destiny. We possibly both believe we were placed on this earth by the plan of God through the procreation of our parents, that can mean parents deeply in love bringing forth a plan to have a child or children, these children can be born with maybe parents not greatly suited in marriage and those deeply in love in marriage therefore different children possesses different characteristics. (. just like in the case of Hitler unloved violently by his father.) . Adam and Eve originally possessed a purer mind than ours since their fall we have all inherited what is called a fallen nature which has the natural deposition to do negative instead of positives things generally. The play in the interchange in the new birth of the mind comes into play as the Holy Spirit of God is always trying to woo people back to himself, Christ who said if I am lifted up on the cross for sins of all mankind I will draw men ladies boys girls unto my self. Jesus called this the new birth experience, meaning giving up on your egotistical self-preservation and relying on the lord as you then cooperate with him for the rest of your life to follow him denying your selfish ambitions and living for the Lord. Jesus said that in losing your life in this world you will have in the next, taking your cross daily and walking with him who is the center of the entire cosmos he is the (alpha and omega) not us as your philosophy tries to propose. The Lord Jesus is the beginning and the end the first and the last, behold he comes with his rewards for those who followed him in this life. @RussischerDeutscher and one of the first thing u need to understand about the gospels is to understand that the doctrine of original sin is not biblical. understanding this the key to knowing repentance...it is the grace that saves u through faith not the sacrifice....the sacrifice is just part of the lesson.

I wouldn't take anything Deepak Chopra says as anything other than entertainment on the matter. This man took Hinduism and marketed it towards upper middle class white people who feel a void in their life after little Bethany went off to college. However, what I think Jesus was.. Was a preacher whose basic tenants about his teachings are truthful. Just his predecessors decided to imbelish on his character.

@JohnnyPeacemaker But thanks for answer. I think that, with the light You receive, You are sharing what You have with others. I just estimulate You to try to receive from God first, and then give to others. With God nothing comes from You. Peace!

mytuber81, Jesus and other "heroes" like him, I believe are archetypes that represent the enlightenment we all can achieve by becoming more spiritual persons, not more religious, becoming part of a religion is like believing that "God" has a particular preference, a very limited vision of "him". Many others have been crucified long before Jesus for the human sins, it does not mean Jesus's teachings should be rejected, it means all others should be embraced too
