Aamna I salute you. You addressed the elephant in the room with such professionalism and without making Deepak feel the discomfort of the situation. Sometimes we just have to accept the apology we don't get. He said it, he didn't deny or defend his moment of madness. You understood that's how he is. You didn't make a big thing of it then either, however you also knew you could not, not touch on it, because audience would have not appreciated it being totally white washed. In fact the opening line friend and foe set the scene perfectly 👏👏💓💓
@HBZ173 сағат бұрын
I think he did defend himself by rehashing his biases “pink aunty, kaali aunty, brown aunty, etc., and then dodging the bullet by avoiding Aamna and directly straight to audience. The audacity was asking the audience in his “barey Abu” aura to “not body shame on social media”. Basically keep whatever biases you have around people of certain physical appearance, just don’t share that on social media.

I can’t and don’t want to imagine someone playing role of “Barry abu” in Qej other than deepak perwani. He acted so well and portrayed desi abu soo good, consistent anger on his face and then the thappar fight scene watched it multiple times.

Sometimes, while watching an interview, I feel the interviewee either doesn't understand the question or perhaps doesn’t know how to answer it, which usually distracts me. However, not for a single moment did I feel that in this interview. I thoroughly enjoyed it-it was such a delight to watch. What a personality-truly enigmatic!
@fawwadshafi95556 сағат бұрын
Deepak is gentleman, in 2007 I had the pleasure of getting my wedding sherwani and Mehndi clothes and male family Kurtas made from his design house. He was so polite and helpful, him and Nadeem Aziz, his assistant at that time were awesome. A great Soul. Best wishes. 😊 he is a acha Insaan, that’s a much bigger compliment than a acha actor or acha designer, which is he also.

Narcissism and grandiosity at its peak. Deepak Perwani could have said “I regret saying those words or no hurt feelings or I should have kept those thoughts to myself ” if sorry is too big of a word for him to utter! Basically, what I gathered from that conversation was “keep those biases to yourself but just don’t body-shame in front of the whole social media”

SUPERB job Aamna. Extremely enjoyable one hour plus, watching two giants of the industry parring words and sharing experiences. You have shown yourself every inch a lady , interviewing and bringing out the vibrant features of the man who once was arrogant and rude enough to insult you on a public forum. The grace with which you have handled that topic is admirable indeed. On the whole the interview had every quality needed to make it a huge success.

Whatever he does he does brilliantly! He is doing a terrific job in Qarz e Jaan. I couldnt see anyone else do bary abba better than him. Accomplished fashion designed and a great asset for Pakistan. One of the best interviews Amna has done. Great energies. Loved it 👏

'Meray Pass Pass’ was the first Pakistani drama I ever watched when I was just 6 years old, back in 2005. I was a bit confused when he mentioned it was 30 years ago, but that aside, his acting in that drama was truly remarkable. It left such a lasting impression. Now, he’s doing an exceptional job as Baray Abu in Qarz e Jaan. His performance is absolutely fantastic. No one else could’ve played this role better than him. 🙌🏻

I like him just for the fact that he raises voice and speaks up for Pakistan whenever those propaganda social media accounts on Twitter/Instagram from inside Pakistan as well as those sitting elsewhere wake up to project a negative image of Pakistan by playing victim card and how "Hindus" specifically are treated like slaves or something and put down and treated unfairly wrt to jobs, work and stuff.

Loved and loved this interview. There should be part 2 of it. Actings and fashion conversation went side by side. Loved it. Mr. Perwani is correct about India. The freedom of women in India is so much. They can walk freely. Jaipur is a city of colours. Must visit if anyone gets a chance to go there. The other good place to visit in India is the South of India. The original silk of every state is a statement piece. Please, Aamna, do a solo interview on his fashion collection.

I don't usually comment on any videos but I have been following something haute for a while now. But oh my God! This was one of the most candid, raw and unfiltered interviews that I came across after the gems like Nadia Afgan and Kashif Hussain. I love how you started the interview, discussing the ongoing debates in the industry regarding dues and pays, production quality and the involvement of actors in their art and then smoothing switching to fashion, dress designs and overall aesthetics. I also loved how candidly Deepak discussed the state of Karachi while accepting the privileges that he comes from. But most importantly, I loved loved loved how you brought up his previous comment (which I personally found offensive) but not for a moment during that interview, I could think that this conversation might have happened in the past. 11/10 for this one Aamna❤

Language and accents: the only time I heard of a Pakistani actor taking time to perfect his accent and pronunciation of the language correctly was when I saw an interview of Wahaj who gave much credit to his Bangladeshi fans who helped him get his accent and correct pronounciation of the Bengali language for Jo bicher Gaye! It was evident in the drama! However people mock Kubra and Ushna for their Urdu and their ‘foreign’ accent, yet if the other actors play say an American or British character they still have a Pakistanis accent, and no attempt made to actually learn how to be an American / British educated returnee! This interview Aamna was very insightful, thank you!
