This just gave me a flashback to being 12 years old in 2002 and finding people on Yahoo games talking about a 9/11 wing dings conspiracy. If you typed 911 in wing dings it was a plane and two buildings 💀 people were losing their ever loving minds, not realizing that the image was actually a picture of a piece of paper, not buildings.

@@deathbloom27 I remember classmates spreading that around in elementary school. It wasn't "911", that renders in Wingdings as a trackball (9) and two folders (11). The hoax was actually "Q33 NY" which turns into a plane (Q), two sheets of paper which could also look like office buildings (33), a skull and crossbones (N), and the Star of David (Y). Q33 referred to the first plane to hit the Twin Towers, except... there was no such flight as Q33. The planes that hit the Twin Towers were AA11 and UA175. Wikipedia has a section on the Wingdings page on this hoax, as well as explaining the real controversy where "NYC" rendered as the aforementioned skull and crossbones (N), Star of David (Y), and a thumbs-up (C), believed to be an anti-Semitic message. Microsoft insisted this was by accident, and Webdings changed this to render as an eye (N), heart (Y), and city skyline (C) to refer to the "I ❤NY" slogan.

It really adds to the drama, knowing that the sisters' ruse worked, and he had missed the true target. Its time for a confession: when i was at university, we were required to use times new roman on EVERYTHING. Three years in, I started to HATE times new roman so I started writting in comic sans just for the heck of it and, when I was done, I changed it to times new roman. It made the whole "write a paper" process more bearable.

I am an author with vision problems and for a long time, Comic Sans was the only font I could comfortably read. So several books and short stories were written, re-written, and proof read in Comic Sans, before being changed for publication. So whenever someone wants to throw shade on this font, I want to break their nose. 😁

Same as Comic sans and Papyrus due to the skeleton brothers using said fonts in their dialouge. And the delivery of the wingdings matches with what sans would do

Fun fact: Comic Sans is actually very legible in particular to dyslexic people since the letters have few repeated shapes. The asymmetry and imperfect style helps make the letters hard to get confused over. So Comic Sans IS a man of the people, all people.
