Leon, I have one of these and I have used it for a few months. It has defo given me more confidence in knowing what is in front of me and it's saved a lot of time. I thought I was a bit of a whizz on it, but I have picked up a couple of good tips from your vid. If I had to add anything to your review, it would be to buy the Phone holder for your rod. It was expensive for a bit of rubber and a couple of elastic bands, but it makes using it a lot easier. But be careful when giving it that extra bit of oomph on the cast, just in case!!! And the other thing that I bought was the Orange cover. Again a bit steep at £12, but how hard is it to see a black marker in bright sunlight!!!!!!!! Pro's for me was as above, a load more confidence that I was finding clear spots and how hard the bottom was. I know this can be done with a lead about and a marker, but with this it is one cast and maybe a second to confirm the first = less disturbance. Con's, well obviously the price, and, get this, it gives me more confidence, but it destroys my mate. He is obsessed with the fish icons and will sit and sulk if we use it and don't find any fish in the swims!!!!! Good vid mate keep up the brill work and love to the Carp Dog.

nice one leon, I bought one of these back in early February, you've pretty much hit the nail on the head mate, its just another tool and a very good one specially if you fish short sessions like me. I know you don't use it as a fish finder but its worth turning that feature on, specially in winter, first time I used mine to map my water last winter it found me the carp too 👍

Hi Leon, I own a deeper pro+, absolutely love it! A couple weeks ago, myself and a pal, were fishing a local lake, and we used the deeper to have a look around. We found a snag in my mates swim, and it showed that there were fish present nehind this smag, we clipped up the deeper and wrapped it out, casted out to the snag (just before it actually), and he had 3 fish from it in a short day session! Brilliant bit of kit!

I had the original one which was a bit restricted to distance so I brought the pro which I've used up to 100yds plus. Saves a hell of a lot of time plumbing and found things which you would have struggeld to find with a marker setup, they're spot on and definitely has helped me catch some fish. Worth every penny. Nice one

@clivelogsdon1492 Жыл бұрын
@@jupitorman just seen your reply. If you have any problems with it not charging, due to the amount it might have been used, try changing the charger and the cable. I've had mine for a long time and have used it a lot but a couple a few weeks ago it wouldn't charge and thought I'd have to get a new battery which is about £70. I emailed deeper they told me to do the above and it's been fine since then, also they said to charge it regularly even if it's not been used. It's a pukka piece of kit and saves hours when plumbing, when I find an interesting area I still have a lead around so feel what the lakebed is like

Thanks for the honest review Leon, I think I will pick one up, like you say its a good thing for someone on limited time that will allow them to better understand the water in front of them without constant casting/marker disturbance, nothing cheap in life this day and age but always like to get an honest review off someone who has used said product first.

@@LEONBARTROPPCARPER If you buy a phone bracket and bankstick adaptor (about a £5 for the pair on eBay), you can mount your camera on a bankstick at shoulder height. This improves the reception and therefore the range. It also makes it very easy to monitor things in real time...enabling you to clip up as soon as a feature is identified, possibly even on your second cast to the same spot. I have this model but by all accounts the new chirp is even better. That having been said, it's identified spots in a weedy lake with gravel bars which I would not have found by simply leading around..unless I'd spent most of the day doing it! More importantly, I've caught fish on a notoriously hard water as a result.

Nice one Leon! I have one, and they are great bits of kit. I am having trouble in trying to create an overview "map" of my lake using the gps facility. Could you perhaps demonstrate that?👍
@2010wembley7 жыл бұрын
Richard Curtis You need to download the map for the country youre fishing in. EG for the UK: Settings-offline maps-europe-northern europe-uk. Then: Settings-sonar mode-onshore gps mode. The unit will then record every cast and map it. At the end of the session go into history. Highlight the session and send it. Then to access the map, you go to: deepersonar.com/en/introducing-lakebook-deeper-data-manager Log in and away you go. You can even share the map with mates. Each session adds to the map automatically. It sounds complicated but its dead easy and once youre used to it takes seconds. I will say android is different to ios in the commands but has a much stronger wifi signal. Edited to add, you have to wait for the satelite icon on the scanning screen, ie the screen that gives the depth reading, to turn green, this indicates its located where you are. 👍🏻

Great review Leon, I have the original deeper and I would not recommend it as it is bluetooth and you can not cast a good distance before it looses connection ( 30 m max), I suspect that is why the pro came about !! Does the pro work on shallow lakes 3-4 foot the normal one struggles but I need to change the angle to see if the works.

Got one of these and I think it's a perfect replacement for a marker. One thing guys, if casting from the bank it's much better using the bottom screw hole, I find it better balanced and much safer for bigger casts as it's in the main body. My question about it is what kind of retrieve rate have people found best for accurate mapping against the pulse rate of the sonar? Please help as I've found this very hard to gauge.
@2010wembley7 жыл бұрын
Luke Mante I find a steady retrieve is best. If youve had a cast around on GPS mode and there is a 'hole' in the map I find you dont need to be directly over the top of that area. As long as you are close by and slowly retrieve, the deeper fills the gaps. Ive also found the more times you go over an area the more accurate it becomes.
