Up here in Maine we get as much snow as that sometimes more it will fall feet at a time its perfect for sledding which is my favorite thing to do in the winter I remember last year I measured the snow banks at my house and they were 11 and a half feet tall

actually my fire Dept has a 4 seat ranger with a rescue body on the back and tracks. we use it for the snow storms we get here around buffalo

+ostacruiser snow conditions are poor here also. The ground is white but melting, and 10 day forecast is above freezing with zero snow. Just picked up a Timbersled kit for my dirt bike, and I don't know when I'll get to try it.

They need to use these for search and rescue... More room for gear and rescues. It would probably be much nicer being brought outta the woods or mountains in one of these than wrapped up on a sled being pulled out by a snowmobile. I can think of so many reasons why they should have these. Not to mention it looks like one helluva good time. Lol

Looks pretty impressive. Does it sink very far down into the powder? Tracks it left maybe a foot or so deep? PS: Just ordered a 2016 Yamaha Wolverine R-Spec. Good choice? Or should I have gotten the RZR 900? RZR was $4000 more though.

+eclipser2004 Well, R-Spec or Rzr depends on what you will use it for mostly. I started out with a Ranger 6x6, and then moved to Rzr-S - Rzr 1000 and now Rzr Turbo. I do miss having a Utility rig sometimes. As far as Tracks go, I'm thrilled at how they perform. If it's real deep powder,(like day of the storm deep) it'll sink little more. A day after the storm it starts settling and it's no issue. I haven't been stuck yet, but it's not impossible. I push the limits, but with a little common sense. Cheers!

I have a polaris and wish I could go back to purchase day and bought the Yamaha. Yamaha is a forever machine and Polaris is crappy that's got lots of gadgets and is always broken. I've owned lots of Yamaha s and I totally made a mistake buying a polaris. my Polaris is fast and drives good but it ain't a quality built machine like a Yamaha or a Honda.

Andrew Oakeson thx for watching! Initial install probably took 2hrs, making sure everything is adjusted properly. Now it's about a half hour on or off. Pretty simple. I love the tracks. I've upgraded to a Rzr Turbo since this vid, full cab and heater. Nice to have a year round SxS. Cheers.

yellow72bronco cool, that's great to know. One more question: how does it compare to a snowmobile as far as handling and stability? Seems like climbing hills is not as easy.

Andrew Oakeson it won't go like a sled. Can't get the track speed and this thing weighs probly 3-4 times what a sled does. But it is fun to bomb around the back 40, old roads etc. Count on almost 50% gear reduction so that's how fast your top end will be. I've ripped some pretty good hills, but it also depends on snow conditions. Power steering is great which I'm sure your General has. Handles fine. I truly enjoy having the tracks on in the winter. Cheers!

Top speed is 42mph on tracks according to a Garmin GPS. Never did a GPS run on tires, stock should be near 80 mph tho.

LMAO no such thing as a good Arctic Cat Sled! There's Doo's and there's DON'TS. Whatever keeps ya happy. I upgraded to a Turbo model with a cab and heater. I like to just run around the back 40, not trying to replace what a sled does, just get year round use of my SxS. Cheers!
