I've been actually using that killer crossover the same way Tim Hardaway did - as a counter for a between-the-legs blow by - and it works super well. Every time I need to create space or get to the rim, this move comes in handy. So, great video and I can testify that the Hardaway cross really works well.

It's not called the Hardaway cross because it sucked, right :). Thanks for your feedback, Paul. - Joe @ TeamEGT

Paul Kim hey can you tell me what situations you use it in and how you sell it? I really want to master this move since I use the between the legs cross a lot I think if I mastered the utep step I could be deadly
@BasketballHighway19
@BasketballHighway19 6 жыл бұрын
Sargint Reznor you sell the move by extending your hips out in the direction you want them to think you are going, kinda like Iverson's crossover but quicker so the ref doesn't call carry.

Anonymous User well i use this move depending on the defender, he is balanced i don't use it, and if i do find myself using I would use my inside hand to do it, so i can get to the middle and do a stepback or dribble pull up they always try and strip the ball
@BasketballHighway19
@BasketballHighway19 6 жыл бұрын
Leo_Cerberus yeah when the defender is balanced, I like to do what harden does and keep the defender guessing with a series of moves

Do you pre plan the killer crossover in game? Or just react when they slide over if you try to blow by?
@JSleepless
@JSleepless 7 жыл бұрын
Tyler From my experience, I'd say most of my moves are instinctive to the given situation, although, I do think steps ahead on what I may want to do, that way I have options when it comes down to executing a move.

Awesome video, I will try to work these into my game. I have a question, though. Would some refs call the sideways stepback a travel? I did it in my game once and the ref called it a travel. I'm pretty sure I did it properly though, so does it depend on the ref?

Maybe I'm wrong, but wouldn't you be traveling or doubling when doing the UTEP 2 Step like that? You shuffled the hell outta your feet, and ik doing moves like that has lead to a traveling call when I did them before.

Bobby Ward if your hand isn't in a cuffing form like underneath the basketball or curled the ball into your forearm then you shouldn't get a travel call because it will still be considered a live dribble

This is what I like about this channel and the crowd here, there is ALWAYS someone to answer your doubt, also thanks for clearing my doubt. Keep up the good work. I am so close getting a 100 FG percentage and thanks to you it might come true :)

the way you taught the in and out seems a little weak. Reading the reach doesnt seem as important to me as doing the move effectively to begin with. The read should be whether or not the d bites and opens up on the "in" part of the in and out. Without a convincing jab/eye and hip direction the in and out is almost a regular dribble.
