With this Microskills series, people gets to appreciate more the efficiency of MJ's game. Fancy is not really part of his game, it just comes out naturally due to his athletism and creativeness. Majority of players of yesteryears preferred efficiency over fancy playing, not to mention coaches discouraged players to be fancy. If one gets too fancy and fail, high chance he will be hitting the bench soon. Not the same nowadays. Just wanted to mention that because younger fans always argue that old players cant dribble well and uses these arguments as proof to say current players are far superior. There are more to the stories, games rules and culture plays a great part of it.

I want to see a video comparison of why Jordan is better than Lebron. We know Jordan played with a great deal of skill and fundamental precision. I would love to see an analytical breakdown between the two players. Lebron is a power player . Jordan was more of a finesse player that played in a different era. However I would love to see the breakdown from your perspective.

You shouldn’t only model your game to MJ and Kobe if your 6’4” and above. Or if your an A.I. athlete. I like the break down but I think it be best if there is a disclaimer on the videos. Also, if your like most and avg height to 6”2’ you may want to look at other players to model off of. Also, he does not note the matchup here. MJ is the GOAT but he was also very intelligent and knew his defenders well. There are things you can take away from these videos but not everything if your around avg height. Also, these moves worked because he was colossal in the midrange and lets face it. Not everyone has a 48’ vertical either even at 6’6”. He also had probably one of the quickest first steps with Iverson and Dave Bing.

@ericjordan6059
@ericjordan6059 4 жыл бұрын
@James Robert ... Difference in the way we did it is what I'm getting at. We took more than 2 or 3 steps. There were also instances where you can do it off the pivot. Depends on who was giving the test. Years ago it was stated that Jordan could stand jump and get his whole hand above the square. If you work the numbers out, that would be around 46".
@popeyeisgood
@popeyeisgood 4 жыл бұрын
also his huge hands made everything he did a lot better too, something that is a lot more rare than being 6'6. those inside-out dribbles, spin dribble, or first step going left and then quickly cut back to the right dribble could not be done as smoothly if he didn't have those huge mitts.

Jordan is the GOAT because of all these details. I personally don't give a lot of credit to the titles when we speak about GOAT because it's a teamwork and the Bulls didn't beat any juggernaut in the finals. Yet, I consider MJ the GOAT.

@bolder2009 2 жыл бұрын
They held a team that swept the Shaq & Kobe Lakers in the play-offs to 54 points in a finals game. To reference a fictional character, Thanos is Thanos, regardless of who he faced in the finals. Michael Jordan was pretty much Thanos in the 90s. Lets keep in mind that Jordan was the ONLY Allstar on the Bulls first Championship roster in 91. I remember watching the 96 finals against a Sonics teams that was no joke, and I just knew Michael Jordan and the Bulls were not going to be stopped. His aura was different. The 93 Suns were a great team, and if Jordan didn't go crazy averaging 40 in that series, the Suns win. The Bulls were molded in his image.

Wade and Zion both use the same skills to attack the basket and are the only 2 slashers on the level of Jordan. Bron might be the GOAT finisher once he gets there, buy he is far behind most of his peers at how he gets to the basket. Bron is terrible at creating space off the dribble in the half court. Wade and Zion excel at that ish.
