Everything was going well, but at the end, when Shraddha tells Manoj that he cleared the interview and Manoj cries in joy, it makes me cry and smile at the same time. The last scene (where he falls on the ground) was so powerful that I too cried uncontrollably with the characters in the film (I don't get emotional or don't laugh easily while watching films). Somewhere this scene struck a chord inside me because everyone has this moment in their lives at some point. Brilliant...just brilliant!!

I just loved that scene where Manoj goes back to his village, and his mother is oiling his hair and they are talking, and then Manoj says "Bus, kar maa aur kitna jhooth bolegi" and he bursts into tears and then her mother too. What acting was that from both of them. It's just peak cinema 🎬🎬

Among the many good things in the movie, one thing that caught my attention is the panel of interviewers. - The people at the top do not know what is happening at the ground level. They are unaware that many villages have the problem of cheating in exams. - They have a prejudice against hindi speakers. They also have prejudice against non science students. - They are recruiting people who say yes sir, yes sir. People who have different POV are considered arrogant. As an Indian I feel that Manoj never failed. It is our system that failed. Our people at the top have failed.

Simple and straightforward movie. The real-life emotions of what students are going through have been so beautifully narrated in the reel life. A must watch movie.

You are 100% right and really the way you judged these small small brilliant things it is highly commendable. I watched first day show of this movie and the theatre was almost empty. But when i watched the full movie, i felt like i am so lucky that i made the decision to watch not just a movie but a lifetime experience. This is truly one of the best movie of all time.

Vidhu sir stuck with the narration in the book, presented it as it is (although I haven’t read the book but I have heard the comparison between the book and the film) and what I believe is, that dramatisation wouldn’t have done justice with the story. The reality exists as it does, it is not described as it is harsh, but as it does, just blunt fact. If the character needs something in his life, which is essential and there is simply no choice, no drama, just get the work done. Vikrant sir, as an actor presented the inner turmoil which is represented by dramatisation by use of narration or by use of background music usually, but the beauty is, in the individual facial shots, it just justifies that the reality exists as it is and the necessity exists so the struggle. So, justified by the well edited shots and clear cut presentation as what exists as it is. No Bollywood masala. It mesmerising that the shots, the colour scheme, the lighting and the overall cinematography just makes it apparent to the viewer to just see it, simply absorb into it and be there in the moment of reality as it is presented.
