Hello sir , I wanna be clear on something . Why additional 2 notes ( B & C) were played when you play G Dorian mode ? Wasn’t it supposed to end on G note ?

Soch to lenge ki hum g major k note bajarahe hein lekhin agar hum a dorian bajayenge toh chord kya a minor shift karna padega ya sirf g major chord ma hi soloing karna padega Soloing ki contest me chord chnge ko vhi bataya hoga ta aut jyada clear ho jate

... TOTALLY CONFUSING .. initially felt i am understanding .. but later lost ...... G Ionion starts from G note .... then G dorian should start from A note .... . as per theory .... lost now
@subhadip.flixcanvas5 ай бұрын
G Ionian = G A B C D E F# The second note of G Ionian is A, clear? Now if you play the notes of G Ionian from it's second note that is the note A and considering it as the root, then you get A Dorian, not G Dorian. A Dorian = A B C D E F# G (Same Notes as G Ionian, cross check from above and confirm) The second note of "F Ionian" is G and if you play the notes of F Ionian but from G as the root, then you get G Dorian. F Ionian = F G A A# C D E G Dorian = G A A# C D E F (Same Notes as F Ionian, cross check and confirm) There is nothing confusing. Please take your time and try to understand step by step. G Ionian shares same notes with A Dorian, not G Dorian. G Dorian shares same notes with F Ionian, as G is the second note of F Ionian.

@@subhadip.flixcanvas thanks for reply..... the more & more i wanted to learn mode theoretically..... the more i am getting confused ... is it a way to understand it on practical playing it on the guitar ..... if yes how it to be done ... right now what i am doing is playing the C scale Ionion 8th fret 6th string.... & same if i start from D note 10th fret 6th string D-Dorian ... if i start from E note 7th fret 5th string E-Phyrgian.......... like this i play 2 octave ...
@subhadip.flixcanvas5 ай бұрын
@@lazybun_india5134 Yes, you have understood the theory perfectly. You get different modes from the Ionian Mode or the Major Scale of any Note. The second note of any major scale will always give you the Dorian of that second note, the third note will give you the Phrygian of that third note and so on. That's the theory. But, as you have encountered the problem that when you try to play it practically on the guitar, and if you know only the Ionian Mode in one place and try to play the other modes on the same place, you get confined to a certain area of the fretboard and it provides no help in actual playing. That's why, in this Practical Video, I have tried to show the shapes of all the different modes first, in one place, the G Position on the 3rd Fret. Once you memorize all the shapes of all the modes in G Position, then you can move in other positions on the fretboard. If you learn to play G Dorian in 3rd Fret, then you can play the same shape in A Position, the 5th Fret and you get A Dorian. Right? And you also know G Ionian and A Dorian shares the same notes. So, if you want to play G Ionian but not limited to 3rd Fret Position only, then you can move to the 5th Fret and play the A Dorian Shape and you will still be in G Ionian, as G Ionian and A Dorian shares the same notes. That's one application of modes. The theory knowledge and the different shapes helped you connect them on the fretboard in a meaningful way and you suddenly are able to play the G Major Scale in both 3rd and 5th Position. So, you are combining your Theory Knowledge with practical playing. If you want more clarity, then I suggest you to see my other 3 videos on this topic where I have further cleared some of the doubts. And you also need to know all the notes on the guitar fretboard first in order to grasp the concept of Modes. Please take a copy and pen along with your guitar and study the theory and practical and it should come to you. You can also check out my entire Guitar Tutorial Playlist from beginning. Wish you all the best and happy playing.

Completely Useless videos (both part). Learning modes is just unnecessary. Bcoz after all any mode belongs to the major scale with same set of notes
