BLESSED! BLESSED! BLESSED! What a lovely homestead you have been 'given'. When you said Danny, that you were; 6' 3"...I thought of my dearly deceased husband who shared the same height. Means your dear Wanda, will ALWAYS be looking up 2 U (LOL) But...in more ways than one. Just luved seeing that sweet little frog nestled into the best place in the greenhouse. Now with the new pond out back, he must be thinking; "These people must really like me to have gone to all that trouble!" (LOL) I TRULY enjoyed watching you stroll through your greenhouse Danny, as you walk around in humble gratitude for the gifts you enjoy. Takes a lot of; 'TWEEKING' to get things just right...and these vids teach us well on that fact. Health and God's continued abundant blessings upon you n' yours!

Newish gardener here, and my dear heart built me a greenhouse. Zone 7. It's April 2021 and yesterday it was 99 in there, so I need ideas. Thanks for all this info. I had to stop the video very often to take notes. Peppers I can do. But okra, blackberries, citrus? Things are just about to get fun.

I have a pineapple plant in front of my apartment. Last year's fruit was invaded by ants and the fruit this year was taken over by ants and a squirrel. I love seeing that baby pineapple coming out every year. I also have a Moringa Olafeira tree that produced pods. I harvested probably about two dozen "drumsticks" (they were as long as my forearms and as big around as my forefinger.) I gave several to a friend whose husband makes soup with them. I laid out the rest of the pods to dry and harvested the seeds a few weeks ago. My first harvest yield was over one hundred seeds!

I am new to gardening but can see clearly that taking charge of the soil content and moisture control and protecting plants from insects is the key to success. Happy for you Danny and Wanda that your King Dome is such a success! When we get to our property we will definitely have many greenhouses of various styles.

I go out each morning and pick any imperfect green tomatoes, tender okra, and peppers and go inside and cut the tomatoes into wedges, cut the okra crosswise one time, and seed the peppers and throw them all together in a little avocado oil and let them get nice and browned. Then serve with a horseradish dill sauce I make with sour cream, mayo, mustard, horseradish sauce and fresh dill. Such a good treat each day.

Dear Annie k. , If I could humbly suggest anything to you at this juncture it would be make a decision and get started. Our dollars are going to be worth less in the future. It would be most important to have this now and get started. Once you’ve ordered your greenhouse, and we ordered ours from I think it was grower solutions. It takes some time depending on their productivity to get it manufactured and delivered to you. Then it takes some weeks to set up. We’ve been working on hours on long weekends and even with two capable people and pulling in some help with our kids, it is a project! A project with a wonderful end to bless you your family your neighbors and perhaps your church. You could even get some things started in pots now with the idea of moving them into the greenhouse once it’s completed. You can always do a hoop house configuration if that’s where funds are at this time.Lovingly and hoping to meet you one day, make a decision to get started especially if you considered it in the past.

Some peppers have a high vitamin C content. In the northeast, people grow peppers and can them for the winter time, for the vitamin c content. We can't exactly grow citrus around here. I would enjoy having a lime or orange tree.

I love watching your channel. I am in the process of buying a new house and the current owner told me that he has 2 green houses that I can have but I will have to move them. The large one is made from what we call a country carport and the top has poly-carbonate and the sides are steel and I think it is about a 40x30 in size. The smaller one looks like a 8x10 building from Home Depot with poly-carbonate sides. The previous owner would grow flowers and onions and sell to the public. I have never had a greenhouse and I'm wondering if I should remove the steel sides and replace it with plastic that can be opened and closed to allow the heat to escape. The ends are setup with back draft dampener and a fan, but the fan is missing. Just wondering how successful the large greenhouse would be with the current setup. I live in zone 8B.

In the north if you put your citrus outside like I do I havent had issues with grasshoppers but the black swallowtail butterflies(might also be a called black spice tail) will lay eggs on them and their larva will chew up the leaves too. On the years mine doesn't set any fruit I've let the couple larva eat a bit and crawl off as I love butterflies in my gardens and actually leave many weeds/natives for them but on the years I get fruit I do hand pick them off and move them to the weeds as I love my little calamondin sour oranges 🍊.

Hey Danny you kept using a term called “cadillacing” when referring to how well your plants are doing in the greenhouse. That’s a term I’ve never heard before so I typed it in google to see what it tells me . I was a little shocked to find the meaning at least the urban meaning “ Cadillacing is just when someone drinks any kind of booze and at the same time or right after smokes some weed. It's getting high and drunk at the same time - CADILLACING. Just curious if you were of what the definition of that word is and curious what your understanding is?

Deep South Homestead ya I remember my uncle used to own a Cadillac and it was huge like a boat on the highway and it was smooth sailing in it. I thought it was likely that there was an old explanation /definition that was pretty much opposite to what it means to the young urban kids today. It’s such a shame how our language has become so messed up! Thanks for clarifying.
