Good video borderwise, and I would like to add another honorable mentions: the coffin nail, its a problem if you dont bring a strong enought AA, and the Piraiba, not the strongest, but the same reason of the coffin nail

Also, don't take cheap or lightly armoured aircraft to a fight with a Coffin Nail. I did something like that once, and it was quite a mistake. When I finally killed it, the fighter it previously destroyed ended the fight by ramming its disintegrating corpse.
@abcadef61713 жыл бұрын
Yup: that thing killed one of my first (otherwise) effective campaign craft. It was a little monitor that could definitely kill any ship the DWG were going to throw at it. Key word: ship. It had no ability to fire meaningfully upwards, so the stupid coffin nail just sat above it and slowly bombed it to death.

Personally I've found the Rapier really irritating. There's a good reason you start with one in "Of Oil and Pirates": It's like a Corsair, but fast enough to keep up with some of the Watch's sailing ships. It _really_ screwed me over when I wasn't ready to fight one.

Use flares to stop the missiles from the plane, and metal armor at least above the water for their guns and the gun on the falkenheim. Then some agile missiles and beltfed 80mm adv cannons should take them down

Personally I would love to see this with every faction (or at least the OW, SS and LH since I always fight them early as well. I personally just did the campaign one last time before all the changes start to come down and used a combo or my super cheese subs and normal ships and ran into a few ships I've rarely seen before and even lost one of my subs because it wasn't properly prepared for the fight it got.
@jakaltha70673 жыл бұрын
Kind of surprised you didn't mention my nemesis in the DWG. The "Mistraider". Not the most powerful, even by DWG standards, but those guns can effectively target and hit your craft from silly ranges. 2000+ meters. Plus it fires in large salvos, like a long range shot gun. That thing has caused me no end to trouble. More so in Adventure mode where it can hit you from beyond render range. but it always makes a mess of my earlier craft if they spawn it in in campaign.

Oh yeah! When you are new, the DWG are quite terrible... I was terrified of the Angry Chicken, Prowler, Kracken, Squirrels, Plunderer, Ransack, Tortuga, Orca, Paddlegun and Moray, Basically all the godly craft back in the early days! :) it took me a very long time to build anything that could go head to head with them without a million repair bots. This was also before aps was a thing. I'm glad the Leatherback was not around then! There are alot more scarier things now. I agree with the Crossbones to an extent, but if you make the mistake of trying to out cram it, you might be in for a surprise. Many years later, I've finally built a ship that can solo the Meg, for less cost. Dreams do come true! Good vid!

Some godly dont spawn on custom campaign even you set it later on in godly difficulty for some reason or maybe they are rare in custom, some of this godly are common spawn in godly/very hard difficulty to the point in rare occasion DWG destroy onyx watch before you reach them, to those who doesnt know godly/very hard difficulty from the depths puts you in the middle of the map and everyone hates you so fighting DWG rarely happends in godly. I remember my first time from the depths the paddlegun destroy me to the point it force me to study advance canon and missle. I agree some of this ship will destroy beginners but with little experience they are easy to destroy. You should learn how to make a short concise script and cleaver cuts to shorten your videos down to around 25 minutes while retaining information. Your tutorial Videos specifically I completely ignore because no one other that your own fanbase is going to spend 45 minutes learning a single specialized thing like "Tracks". Tutorials are supposed to be the highest form of condensed information so people can spend 10 minutes and understand the over all basics of *insert thing*
@BorderWise123 жыл бұрын
So where do you think my fanbase originally came from? 🤔 Every single time I've tried to shorten tutorials via scripting or editing (yes, I have tried), people have gotten on my case for leaving things out or skimming things over. This game does NOT lend itself well to short, concise tutorials and trying to do what you're asking would likely make me give up on tutorials entirely. You are welcome to try it and prove me wrong, however. 😃
@pokeface1193 жыл бұрын
@@BorderWise12 I mean, people will inevitably like it if it exists. Just as there are those who dislike it xD But you cannot honestly tell me that you can't shorten your videos and make them more time efficient.. You often spend several minutes multiple times per video finicking around with settings and blocks only to go back on what you initially said then think about it like "Is this really right?" (In Specific Cases) In those kinds of cases, you can cut out a lot of the faff while retaining important information. I'd also recommend (instead of recording the video and audio at the same time) try writing down the script, everything you plan to do in the video, then record the video and narrate over it after you have the footage. This is the easiest way in my experience to condense information in a single video because trying to take everything in 1 take is extremely difficult. I appreciate the work you put in, but I don't enjoy the time sink required to watch your videos. ♥

@BorderWise123 жыл бұрын
@@pokeface119 I see where you're coming from, and I promise you I try (and will continue to try) to keep unnecessary waffling down. However... You know you can just watch the video at double-speed, right? That's in fact how many of my regular viewers do it. If that's not enough, it's a little strange to me that you'd be patient enough to go through the hundreds or thousands of hours necessary to get competent at FtD but a 30 minute to 1 hour KZbin video is impossible for you to sit through. My videos are a time sink mostly because FtD itself is a time sink. The people who were making tutorials before me - Rosefall, IreLan, even Lathrix when he was making them - all made pretty lengthy tutorial videos as well, so it's not just me.😜 Like I've said, I've tried shortening and scripting videos before: some of my very earliest non-FtD videos were all scripted and the degree of perfectionism that comes into play means a script can take me days or even weeks to finalize. Writing a script might make the video shorter, but it's far more time-consuming - and draining - for me behind the scenes. And this game is not unchanging, it updates when you least expect it. I'm not spending ages writing a script only for an update to come out of the blue and render half or all of my script useless. I'd rather just get the video out there and then be sad when it inevitably falls out of date.😆 The cases you're talking about when I faff around with settings actually happen quite rarely in tutorials and are generally over in less than a minute. I leave them in mostly 'cos I like to laugh at myself and show people that I sometimes struggle as much as they do, which is a VERY important thing to show with this game for new players. Trying to match what I do in the video with scripted post commentary is just not feasible time-wise. It already doubles the recording time when I do it for Let's Builds, which is completely unscripted and not even intended to be informative. Doing it live means I can match audio with what I'm doing without even worrying about it, respond instantly to what is happening in the game and demonstrate principles as and when they occur to me. FtD is also somewhat unpredictable sometimes: multiple times I've tested things off-camera just for something slightly different to happen when recording. It's derailing enough when I'm just improvising with a few notes, it's even more derailing if I'm trying to follow a strict script. Not to get personal, but I checked your channel and there is not a single tutorial for anything. I always appreciate feedback and criticism, but please don't insist on recommending things to me that you have not tried yourself and put out there for people to see. I'm one of the very few people making tutorials for this game, and if nothing else I know what works for me at this time. And finally: here's not one, but two playlists full of tutorials which are between 20 to 6 minutes long. I do keep things short, whenever I can, even though it might not seem like it. 👍 Quick Guides: kzbin.info/aero/PLaRoLXEzRVvZ4oi9MaN6wVjIiwVPISfzX Cheese Tactics: kzbin.info/aero/PLaRoLXEzRVvYhGw8GVS9emmoFs3z9NYdj

@@BorderWise12 I watch *all* videos at 2x speed as a default. I value my time and try to condense as much information down as possible. Who said I watched "Rosefall, IreLan, even Lathrix" tutorial videos? (Though I do sometimes) I often try and find the shortest tutorial video I can even if its from some guy with only 300 subs. You can always improve, whether that be for time or the way in which you convey your message.. Regardless of whether or not everyone else does it. (I spend hundreds and thousands of hours getting competent at FTDs even though FTDs is a time sink because it improves my building skills overall which will remain through other buildings games.) For the 3rd paragraph I pretty much agree with. It definitely takes more time to record a video then narrate over it compared to when you can just record as things move along. I also see the never ending updates as a massive hinderance to both creators and players alike because in only a few months all your effort will become obsolete with the next update inevitably comes around.. So I understand not wanting to put in a lot of time and effort into a video that will be useless in such a short time. "Not to get personal, but I checked your channel" I figured you might, but I also would have thought you would have realized this is an alt account. I personally do not comment or watch videos on my main. (I personally forget the videos I have up on here with this channel.) It's a massive assumptions saying I don't know what I am talking about based solely on the fact I don't tend to this channel. The information I provided already shows I have put a lot of care and effort into what I use for a tutorial format. (KZbin also cleared out my initial message and I couldn't get it back so this is my second draft trying to salvage what I had from the first by memory)
