@@OfficialMediaKnights Thank you, Ari. It means a lot to me. I appreciate you and Denise so much. You're right when you say how devastating this senseless event was. All while not knowing if there was more dangers to come. Sacrificing themselves with the love of the human spirit. First responders, police, medical personnel etc. Many of the victims also went on to start charities to continue helping others to this day. This movie, Patriots Day shows all of this. The last job I was on with deaths was the largest job of is type in the western hemisphere, and it had a culmination of 20 different deaths on the job over a couple of years. Most times in my 20 years of experience, deaths and accidents happen when safety is disregarded or comprised because of money issues at the top, just like in this movie. This movie really nailed it in every single aspect!! They were so respectful and still didn't pull their punches when it came to the consequences and severity of the situation!

I live on the gulf coast and went see this in theaters. I was amazed how accurately they portrayed everything from the comradery, to the disaster itself, to the efforts the crew made to try to minimize the damage as much as possible. 2 other really good true story movies I would recommend are Lone Survivor, also starting Mark Wahlberg, and Only the Brave, about a group of firefighters.

My dad works in this field he worked for transocean for 23 years and he crew swapped during the day of the deep water horizon at the time, we didn’t know what Rig he was on it was pretty scary..

I always remember my late grandfather telling me about a similar disaster that happened in the 80s in Scotland. The Piper Alpha explosion was extremely similar to the Deepwater Horizon explosion. He was a rigger too and he'd tell me stories of it. Piper Alpha was arguably worse, as the platforms were all connected. When Piper Alpha exploded, it sent a daisy chain of fire to the connected platforms.

Honestly one of the best movies I've seen, it's baffling to me that so few reaction channels have covered it. Thanks, as always, for your heartfelt reactions.

After watching this, y’all will love “Only the Brave”. It’s one of my favorite movies of all time based on a true story of the Granite Mountain Hotshots.

You guys might like the Maze Runner movies. They star Dylan O'Brien and are great movies. Based off of books it was quite cool to see how they followed the books as much as they could. In fact this movie series is the only one that I thought did the books justice. I know they can't include everything but the first movie followed the first book so well. I hope you check out that series at some point.

Hey guys shout out from your favorite US Marine! I live in Boston and this movie definitely hit home. Walburg really is a little underrated imo. He grew up in Dorchester MA which is next to Quincy Massachusetts where I was born and raised. I used to run around Dot ave. in Dorchester all the time which was Dorchester Ave. I have a friend two friends that live in Huntsville. I'm supposed to be going to see them next year. They've been going through some crazy weather lately. Hope you guys are well! Love your reactions!

This film is so anxiety inducing the pressure literally keeps on building and building till it all literally comes crashing down it’s so good and made so well and very effective of showing the aftermath

It really does just that! Such effective storytelling. It did a great job driving the point home.

I loved the development of our main charecter. It are a degree of authenticity to the story. Kurt Russell also gives a spectacular performance in this as well as in another film called Poseidon. As well as he did in Tombstone and St argate. Another disaster, true story film is 13 Lifes with giggle Jorgensen that i hope to see you guys do as well. Until then have fun and keep the movies rolling

Thank you for taking the time to learn about this story🙏 Theres 2 other movies Peter Berg did that are both true stories and are well worth watching. Thank you

Dang I can't believe I missed this notification 😢😢 I'm a retired Electronic technician on offshore drilling rigs the part that Mark Wahlberg plays. My son was on one of the first boats to get there and pick up survivors. The whole world needs to know what British Petroleum got away with. Manslaughter charges against BP and the Company man were dropped 😢😢😢 I Am late but I'm still going to try and answer some technical questions you may have 😊 He could name off all the downed equipment because it's the Electronic technician job to troubleshoot everything and decide if it's the electricians responsibility or the mechanics.

Kurt Russel's accent in this movie makes him sound like he saying "Semen" instead of "Cement" 😂😂😂 You can't unhear it, watch 😉

I really appreciate your choice to cut audio and lower transparency a bit and just leave the memorial in its entirety. Actions like that (alongside a high media literacy and realistic reactions) are what make you two folks one of my favorite channels on the site.

The most amazing thing is this was filmed in a parking lot of the abandoned six flags in New Orleans. Peter Berg the director is an actor himself and has a cameo getting into a helicopter.

Peter Berg and Mark Wahlberg did a BUNCH of movies together for a period there. They were all fantastic and all based on real events-Lone Survivor based on the book, Patriots Day based on the Boston Marathon bombing, and this movie! All so good and so visceral! Highly recommend them all!

Thank you for reacting to this video. Remembered the disaster and oil spill aired on the news, and this movie really conveyed that pretty well. Yall should watch the CSB analysis of deepwater horizon.

I also love how at 8:30 they refer to the song "I Need Money" which was one of Mark Wahlberg's songs from Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch 😂

- Just occurred to me that Kurt Russell and his step-daughter, Kate Hudson (playing Marky Mark's wife), are in this movie together. Very nice! - The movie's director (and actor in his younger years) Peter Berg cameo'd at the beginning. He was the guy Mr. Jimmy was trying to talk to over the helicopter noise near the beginning.

I live just outside of New Orleans, and I remember the massive tragedy this was. I went to Grand Isle over a year later and was still able to find the little balls of oil that washed up. Everyone thought the Louisiana seafood industry was done.

Oh, man. What a film this was. This and Margin Call are two of the darkest, most accurate, and unnervingly accurate films about their respective disasters.

I didn't expect much from this movie when I first watched, but I really enjoyed it. They characters are competent and interesting which give you tension as they express their safety concerns. The film really sells the scale of the eventual explosive ending with great cgi all through, I had no idea what was real or a set. A testament to the vfx guys who worked on this.
