It isn't even a matter of getting good anymore. Its just a matter of being un-fun to 'get good' at this point. I was winning 90% of all my fights early to mid verse 2. Then the game just got to this state where everyone was adapting the most frustrating builds in the world to fight against. Demotivating is the right word for it. I think everyone who watched this video can definetly get to the same level of skill that your protraying. However, my opinion stands that at least some of them aren't getting good because the game is just in this un-fun and difficult to navigate PvP state as I previously mentioned before. Besides that I find merit to your explination as well, it just feels less fun for me at the moment, even though I've always had a big interest in this games PvP. Thank you for reading, ps: its okay if any of you don't agree with me, I'm just portraying my feelings about deepwoken PvP.

Literally me rn... This game somehow had some sort of skill in the beginning but now everything is about mashing buttons in a repetitive combo just to win... Why spend the time to get good when you can invest that time into making a better build that abuses some cheesy combo or tech... This is why I missed the attunementless meta because at least those shithead would parry and 95% of the time you lost to an attunementless player, they were actually skilled unless they had a 650 hp build.

Real, Shrine Of Order messed up this game so bad even tho it's such a great addition to the game. It unlocked some things that should've stay locked and it doesn't help that the DEVs have zero communication with us on pvp gameplay. And nerfs they've done at this point clearly shows that they are not putting any effort into testing it or any real idea what the hell is happening to their game on the pvp side. They just make random balance changes so that it can make them look like they're actually doing something and often these balance changes are completely biased and favoritism (*coughs coughs completely nerfing gale every update and buffing flamecharm when it already has the best healing, damage, and block break moves in the whole entire game).

sheep i`m actually 160ms in chime and i still managed to get top 250 with a friend's account (hero blade of shadow with flame twisted puppets) and i almost killed or killed some top 250's in my main account and it's sad cuz i get skill capped as u said so i hope SA servers come soon....

i cant lie, the clip where you fight the stormseye, you just sat there playing for mantra cds and spamming crit/astral/radiant kick. it isnt skill to play fully defensively, holding S and relying on block, forcing your opponent to be fully aggressive cause otherwise its boring. Its crazy to me you then said you 'put in work' because you managed to land mantras on someone whos max hp playing aggressive to end the fight before they fall asleep. I dont disagree that there is a level of skill to the game, but that skill doesn't lie in playing fully defensively.

Passive playstyle has already been nerfed since the shield nerf. Will always be in a playstyle in a game with those types of options. There’s no problem with it, the only issue is when it’s the MAIN playstyle because passive options are too strong. Shields were already hit

Sometimes you just don't have low enough ping in deepwoken, its not skill vs skill, rather, its whoever has a lower ping at this point the broken builds do play a role in this, of course, but its mostly just a mixed thing of both getting ping gapped and dealing with the most obnoxious things ever

I want to climb elo but I also dont want to make a build that boosts me to that elo. I usually am attunementless medium/heavy with like blindseer or contractor because I want to feel like I actually earned the elo not that i got boosted by a build. (im only 1100 currently)

there isnt really any thing such as boosted builds anymore except full cheese builds like visionshaper or storm cheesers, you can be build carried by others builds like: flame/thunder/ice fist or dagger, or just fist attunementless with lvl 5 strong left and lft attunementless builds are also something u can be build carried by. The fist and lft builds i just mentioned arent really cheese but they are so busted that u can easily get boosted by it
