deepwoken is so close in so many ways to being great but its a bandit beater progression sim the world is poorly designed if you don't know where your going you more than like will sail into the void sea or somewhere that you aren't strong enough to be at or a large wall that blocks off half of an island that your going to have to spend weeks sailing in circles around it for an entrance the game would be miles more fun if they just combined all the islands into one large map the perma death is hardly something to be worried about the game is easy its way to easy to come back death is hardly something to fear because so often you already know you will get your life back easily and have even planned for it there is no tension when going somewhere dangerous the hunger and thirst system feel like relics from a different game there are no other survival mechanics in deepwoken not sure why rouge had plenty temperature broken bones even the sanity system in rouge is miles more interesting it's so funny to think about how we all thought we were gonna be so confused figuring out how to progress as if it was some big puzzle
