Deer and Campobello Islands Loop Ride (SWNB) | KTM 890 Adventure

Coastal loop ride with a few friends through Deer Island, Campobello Island, bridge to Lubec ME (USA), up to St.Stephen NB (CAN), and return to KV. Great day's ride, so much fun!!
I had a few small issues with the mic after we crossed into Lubec, I must have bumped it or the connections while taking the helmet off, or replacing the battery and memory card. These things happen... argh, lol

I used to love going on a good cross boarder shopping trip. It's wild how many things you can get in the states that don't exist up here. Burlington Coat Factory was my fav, lol. I love the ferries. I really want to try and get a few next time I'm over with the bike. Thanks for sharing a beautiful sunny ride.

Yeasir! Lol, the BCF and Marden’s are great spots, you never know what they have. Man I love a good ferry ride, it’s like the little reward for finding them! I think all river crossings all free in NB, Deer Island is free too, but the Campobello ferry is privately owned, and there’s a fee to cross. It’s funny to think back to C-19 days when even on a ferry we weren’t allowed off the bike during the crossing! Good times! Cheers!

An ADV bike is perfect for getting on and off those sketchy Campobello ferries! 😂 Years ago I was the only passenger on the ferry and the captain had a reel with him. He locked the wheel for a little while and started fishing off the side. 😂This is one of my favourite rides.... didn't get there this year though. Cheers!

That’s so funny, yet awesome!! He must have seen a school of fish from his tugboat captain’s chair! Yeah it’s a fun hop on hop off trek, last time I went the bridge to Lubec was closed (C-19), so it was nice to complete the loop. I would do it again for sure! Looks like you had many other fun rides this year like going to Labrador, that so sweet!! I just finished watching ep.1. Wow!! Cheers!

You have some pretty country out your way! Are you still enjoying your 890 adventure? How many miles have you got on it?

Yeah, we’re lucky to be in such beauty landscape. I’m just over 6000km (3750mi), which is the most in a season for me. I’m lovin’ the KTM, it feels planted all the time, solid, and feels fantastic. It’s been fun learning what it can do. I might try a windshield extension, and maybe different mirrors, but the bike stock has been great, even the tires. How have you been enjoying yours?

@@advphilnb I am really enjoying the bike, not so much the dealership I purchased it from. I’ve got about 2500 miles on it. I had an issue with some front wheel hop between the speeds of 35-50mph. The dealership I purchased it from said there was no problem, so I got a second opinion. The second dealership acknowledged the issue but couldn’t fix it. I contacted KTM factory service and they told me to take it back to the shop and have them open up a case with them. The local shop worked with the factory service people and after all was said and done, the tires were replaced under warranty with a new set. Other than that, no issues. Bike handles great on the road, haven’t really done any off-road yet. My riding buddy has a BMW road bike and doesn’t want to take it off tarmac (can’t blame him). I would like to try some BDRs, but need to find a riding buddy that has an adventure bike.

@@advphilnb Oh yeah, I installed heated grips and a center stand…I also replaced the stock mirrors with double take mirrors because I couldn’t get used to the Mickey Mouse ears look😊.

@@bobvandick2546 Glad the issue is corrected, must have been frustrating. Wonder if it was a tire or a tire install problem. I’m impressed with the stock tires, the Pirelli Scorpions have been great for me. The BDR’s seem like a blast, I see many YT vids showcasing them. I’ve been on a few back road group rides with buddies on their cruisers, and turned around at dirt roads, really can’t blame them, but yes would be nice to just keep going eh?! Hope you get to ride with other ADV bikers soon
