To purchase a PORTABLE DEER BLIND - amzn.to/43JQ03D
@mohanliyanage6297 Жыл бұрын
I used this blind for deer hunting this season kzbin.infoUgkxvlQxmcZQzSQSYbJsEgAGvG2DaduKTV99 and will use it again for turkey this coming April 19'. The only common sense thing I recommend is wear all black to cover your upper body considering the inside of the blind is black and dont open unnecessary windows to silhouette yourself. Other then that, spray some water proof spray on the seams and roof. Dont forget your comfy chair, happy hunting.

My Dad and I are building a blind for him now. We just talked last night about how to see when he’s standing up, so I liked your idea about a higher vent/window! Thanks for this video!!

All of my family hunt out of Blinds. They are nice when the weather is bad. I try to explain to them why they are called Blinds. When you are in them, you are Blind to your surroundings. Look up history of Deer Blinds and you will see how they get their name. My cousin listens to his walkman or reads and looks at his Bait pile once in awhile. Drinks and eats out their, with heat going. Also most blinds are located over a bait pile if you prefer that type of hunt go for it. I hunt natural food, Ninebark, acorns, Apple orchards. In a treestand a person can see and not be blind of your surroundings.

A+++ blind!!! I've totally been wanting to build a simple, sectional blind such as that. Your blind looks to be a bit bigger than 4X4?? Looks closer to 4X5 or 4X6? I tried to capture the wall, window, roof construction methods you used so I can try to duplicate them. Where would a guy find rubber membrane like you used? I'd have to have windows on at least two side. I think there'd be too many lost opportunities lost if it was just a one sided blind. Thank you for sharing!!!

Mark, this blind is 5x5. I got the rubber roofing at a Menards store (hardware store). Thanks for watching, KPO.

How to you even shoot out that window?
@KnettersPracticalOutdoors6 жыл бұрын
Connor, you don't need much of an opening. The barrel goes on the bottom edge and then you just need enough clearance for the scope. The smaller the opening the more I am concealed. Thanks for the comment, KPO.

I built mine 6x6 and left the floor out. Lot quieter without a floor and thats material you dont have to pack in.
@KnettersPracticalOutdoors6 жыл бұрын
bigal, I prefer 6x6 too. This one I tried to make a little lighter because of the location. Check out my other vid "Deer blind tour - hunting in comfort PART 2". I go through another blind I use in that one. That one is 6x6. I know what you mean about the floor. I usually build them with screws and not nails, then they don't seem to squeak. Thanks for watching, KPO.

I don't think you needed to add your personal way you relieve yourself to this video. It too would have been better to ditch your son sniffing things on the table. I am glad that all works for you. I am glad your video works for a number of other people as well. What I would have liked to know is where you purchased your roofing. That would have made my day watching your video. I like the one piece roofing and am thinking of building my own blind on my farm. Anyhow thanks for the video it does give me a few ideas.
@KnettersPracticalOutdoors6 жыл бұрын
The roofing is from Menards. But any hardware store should have rolls of rubber roofing or be able to order it. The downside is they are usually sold in much bigger sizes than a deer blind needs. Thanks for watching, KPO.
@owenriggs85186 жыл бұрын
Garry I respect your opinion regarding his son, however what we don’t have enough kids following in our footsteps in the great outdoors. Im sure the boy tagged along with dad to go to camp. Instead of excluding him, he included him. Years from now everyone in their family will get a few chuckles.

Not sure I'd have eliminated all of those windows. Maybe a tinted plexiglass on one side would afford you an option? You mustn't have the mice, squirrels and groundhogs in your woods like I do. They chew everything up! I would be required to have that TP in a can or jar in my blinds!
@KnettersPracticalOutdoors6 жыл бұрын
James, I know what you're saying. I debated the window thing. It came down to I just can't see much in the other directions so I closed them off. As far as animals in the blind, it's completely mouse proof. Window and door shut tight. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching, KPO.

Flagging every 3 ft. You must get lost very easily. ????
@KnettersPracticalOutdoors7 жыл бұрын
Yes I know it looks pretty silly. The reason for the excessive trail marking ribbon is all the mud holes. Putting one ribbon every 50 or 60 feet would be fine for not getting lost, but I'm actually using the ribbon to help me NOT step in the mud holes. Before things freeze up I wear hip boots to this blind, but you can still step in a hole up to your crotch. Especially in the dark. In some places where it looks like the ribbons are next to each other, those are actually specific spots that I need to go between the ribbons to avoid a deep spot. Like red and green buoys in a lake making the exact boat travel channel. In the dark the easiest, flattest looking path is usually where the deep mud is. The path where I sink the least is a very specific zig-zag trail through the swamp that I wouldn't remember without the ribbon, especially in the dark. Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment. KPO
@annapennrose11587 жыл бұрын
Terry Porche, My family hunts private land in the Upper Peninsula and when it's dark in the cedar swamps we're glad to have plenty of trail markers, if you get lost up here you can literally die. Mr Knetter's woods looks to be just as bad so it is better to safe than sorry, especially with kids in deer camp. We use BOTH reflective tacks and orange ribbon side quite often.

Anna Pennrose we've had gps technology since the 90s now, heck, it's on all our phones. there is literally zero excuse in 2018 for getting lost. it should really be impossible.

Trusting solely on electronic devices is a recipe for failure. Batteries die, electronics don't like getting wet as in rain or dropping in a puddle.
