People are always worried about having water when they are looking for property - and rightly so. However you need to take inventory. Trees to tap for syrup. Trees that feed / attract wild game that you can hunt. Trees for lumber or firewood. You might have mushrooms, nuts, and many other things on your property. Shoot, you might even have mineral rights (though probably not).

Cattails, cane, sorghum,and other starchy, carbohydrate rich plants planted near travel areas between bedding areas and watering areas will attract deer as well. Like the Persimmons it helps them pack on the pounds. Know the laws in your state regarding hunting over bait like feeders and spilled corn. My state does not allow it within 30 days of season opener. Since archery season opens in September my last ‘bait date’, were I to use it, is in August. Know that any bait used to bring deer in in concentrated numbers also increases the potential to spread disease among your deer herd.
