One of the reasons I enjoy watching your videos is because I always feel as if I'm learning something useful. After retiring, I became what I joking refer to as a 'Gentleman Farmer'; I bought 200 acres of dry farmland and then built a shop/home near the front. I lease out 150 acres to a wheat farmer and play with the rest. Hence, I now have two tractors and a dozen different implements to help me take care of the place. Thanks

I would love to know what insurance I should have for my two utility 5x8 trailers. I only use them a few times a year for personal use but family members occasionally will barrow them to move things. Should I have them insured or does home owners or auto insurance cover them?

Hmmm... I have a 5x10 landscape trailer and it was my understanding it was covered by my auto insurance.
@craigschofield645 жыл бұрын
@@eosjoe565 My only real concerns are when I loan the trailer to family or friends about my liability, if I need insurance to protect me. Also if contents of the trailer are covered in case of damage.
@eosjoe5655 жыл бұрын
@@craigschofield64 That's a good point. It can get a little sticky in loaner situations and also with insuring the load. I think what auto insurance covers is liability if your trailer causes damage. But I could be wrong. Probably worth asking the agent.

What I find with fabric underneath - Pro type is thicker than this and lasts. Weeds just grow on dust and between rocks. Fabric allows water to go through and stop dust and rock. This looks like limestone that breaks down and should create a seal. I have it on my driveway and it makes a mat. I have Road bead rock (1/4 and smaller) and then 1/2 - 3/4" on top. I have some 2 and less in the drive where it floods over in big storms. Weeds - just spray it and it is gone - easy to spray with rocks.

You had the right idea in using a check dam, you will need to put a few more in. The pipe was not really needed as the size of the rocks allow water thru them. The ideal way is to reduce velocity, BMP on water ways are on the Web for even more ways of slowing erosion.

Hello Tim and Christy, we might be getting and LS xj2025h tractor and we're almost 100 Percent sure on a grapple, but we need help, we were going to get a grapple from the dealer but after looking at it we don't really like it, it is the style that is more like a flat plate and one grab, the other kind is the one you guys had in the video where it is like a bucket almost. What would you guys recommend for someone like us who will be hauling LOTS of blackberry bushes, a few trees and brush, and just carying stuff. What do you think the best one would be for us, we really like the bucket style in this video but we're not sure.

My homeowners insurance doesn’t cover my tractor here in Alabama. When I first bought my John Deere I had to have full coverage required by the John Deere finance Dept. They used a specific insurance company and I had to use them until I paid off my tractor. When I paid it off my insurance company said my homeowners insurance would not cover anything like this. So I had to get a separate policy from them just for my Tractor. And it did make a difference if the tractor was to be used for farming or just personal use like property upkeep. I didn’t inquire about using it for a business like you have but it does cover me if I’m dong work for others as long as I’m not charging them for the work.
@liffy83335 жыл бұрын
I may be speaking out of turn here but my salesman told me the Deere insurance only protects Deere for the remaining balance on the loan, not for anything else. That's probably why it only cost me 300USD for 5 years. I am a relatively new Deere owner and haven't gotten insurance yet that would protect me (liability and fire and theft of attachments not purchased initially) .
@Shawn-rq4py5 жыл бұрын
Liffy it was my understand that it covered everything on the tractor like full coverage vehicle insurance. However I never had to use it. But I’m positive my policy does now. It was also cheaper to go w my company after the loan was paid or I would have stayed with them. If you’re not sure it’d be a good call to make.
