Been following for idk 5 or so years now years now, and this is one of my favorite videos. Not because of the content as a whole, but because of the wholesomeness. What Ms. Rachel (sp?) said at the end rings true with the gulf states and hurricanes. It’s something you have to accept living in these amazing areas. But the resiliency of Louisianans, Floridians and Mississippians when disaster strikes is incomparable. Cheers DMFD

Rob great video as always. I have always enjoyed the way you show people the real America brother. I love the way your videos show that there's a lot more to America than just the big cities. Many people never get to see the pure beauty that is America. But your videos always show it. You ain't going to see 95% of this on mainstream media. I love my fishing, I love my hunting. But I truly love the true beauty that our country has once you get out of the cities and you get and see real America. Rob if said this so many times and I wouldn't keep saying it if I didn't think it was true. DMFD is the #1 hunting and fishing channel on KZbin brother. Say, Robert, that accent is a real mix. They have the French from Acadia (Nova Scotia), from which we get the word Cajun. You add the Southern US accent. Then you remember the French-speaking folks got worried their kids were growing up only speaking French, so way back they brought in English teachers… from Brooklyn, NYC! Now you pay $20 to “pawk ya caw in N’Awlins on de holiday!”

Love the full spin in the flip flops lol. Not everyone could pull that off. Try putting the net over your shoulder rather than in your mouth. Grab the net about a foot higher where you can stand comfortably with the led lines on the ground with your arms outstretched and your back straight. You may find you can get a lot more momentum out of the net that way and not need to do a full spin. You obviously know how to throw a net not knocking your skills. I grew up commercial fishing and have seen it done numerous ways. But the way I just described is the way I throw my nets and all of the best net throwers I know throw them the same way. Besides all that, love the great content. If you ever wanna hit up some Florida river shrimp in the St.Johns let me know. We fill up coolers down here lol. (I know they do the same in Louisiana as well) We tear them up every summer. Another trick we use is strips of duct tape about a foot up from the led lines. We make them about a foot long one inside and one outside sticking to one another and space them about a foot apart around the entire led line. This helps hold the net open in deeper water. You can only do it with shrimp because it slows the net way down. Bait fish will get out. Which helps with the cleaning and sorting anyways.
@deermeatfordinner2 жыл бұрын
I’m going to try to do it your way. I’ve been throwing a net this way since I was a kid, but I always wanna learn new tricks.
@woodwardoutdoors77422 жыл бұрын
@@deermeatfordinner that’s the way we all learned how to throw big nets as well (minus the full spin never could work that out). My brother and I did it that way when we were younger. We met this old timer commercial fisherman who pointed out all the nasty bacteria we were putting in our mouths and showed us the way he did it. Took a little getting used to. And yes you definitely get wet using this method. But I keeps that nasty led line out of your mouth lol.
