Hey Robert I’m 18 years old and have been watching you for over a year now and just wanna say thank you for showing me how to be a man and how to treat people in your life . When I was in the hospital and lost 25 lbs and weighed 125 lbs , I was watching your vids which help me through it all . I commented on the vid and you replied and it made me so happy along with everyone else praying for me . Just like to say I gained all my weight back plus 10 lbs and now weigh 160 lbs . Once again thank you for being a huge role model.

Flathead is the best tasting catfish out there. I also clean the red meat off before cooking and eating. What I like about flathead is, no matter how big they get, they taste good.
i jus did a quick google search, "how to make catfish taste good" a featured youtube video "How to remove the muddy taste from catfish" came up. shows cutting out the center dark / redish piece all the way down the middle to get the lighter ends of the fillet and completely discard the dark pieces, then rinse out as much blood as u can from the trimmed fillets, then soaking the fillets in water with some salt and lemon juice overnight to get out more of the blood and said taste good after all that. interesting

Awesome video, I have seen a couple comments addressing this but I figure the more the merrier. I would recommend bleeding the fish by hanging it by the mouth and cutting the meat slightly before the tail and leave him there for about 15 or so minutes. Also, I would recommend frying the catfish with a cornmeal/flour breading because in my experience it seems to have a little bit better texture.

Catfish can be strong tasting, especially the larger ones. A few years ago an old gentleman told me to be sure and get the belly meat, the strip of white fat on the bottom of the fillet, off and trim out the lateral line on the side. Cut fillets into portions, spray with water until they quit foaming. Lay in Sprite or 7up for about 15 minutes. Lay in favorite coating and fry in hot grease. Your bride will have a good time with these fillets. Love your videos!
