Okay and lady number three didn’t make much sense to me. She says having a child is selfish unless you’re doing it as a surrogate for another person “for free”. Well, wouldn’t that make the person who needed a surrogate “selfish” as well? Because they still wanted to do what she was initially faulting folks for - having a child… That one didn’t make much sense to me…
@emilynam60844 ай бұрын
I think maybe what she’s trying to say is that you shouldn’t just pop out multiple babies without planning or taking responsibility to raise them. I’m assuming that when she meant having the surrogate, the parents who use the surrogate have money and a plan to take care of the child and give them good opportunities in life. Especially since kids can’t choose what parents they get. While it may be inherently selfish to have a child, it is downright evil to have one without being able to give them the best life possible.

I agree with part of what the Indian woman said about work but disagree with another part. The thing I do agree with is its not lazy to not want to work. There are other things we want to do in life that we enjoy that work takes away from. What I disagree with is that if you take what you're passionate about and make money from that it becomes a job. If that's the case then you've lost the passion for that or maybe it was never truly your passion. And there's nothing wrong with coming to that realization. Our passions and dreams can change and if and when they do, then we just change with that.

I disagree with this one 2:56. Yes, men can be and most of the time are responsible for the impregnation of women. But at the end of the day, you get to choose to have the child or not. It's your body, and your choice, and therefore your responsibility to maintain your choice. You can't say you don't want to work a minimum wage job and just expect to get a better one, you have to put work into that. However, if we choose to stop looking at pregnancy as a women controlled thing but instead something where both men and women are coming together to form a baby, then you'll start seeing an increase in men taking responsibility for pregnancies. How am I supposed to know to take responsibility if I'm constantly being told it's another's decision and all my efforts would be meaningless anyway?
@marcoervin73242 жыл бұрын
This is real! Men in our society have no rights when it comes to the process of making a child yet they love to put that responsibility on men. Also women have plenty of contraceptives and prevention methods of having a child men have 2 and one involves surgery. Smh..
@lovely16412 жыл бұрын
To be honest, no a woman is still responsible for her body(as much as possible because rape is a thing). Men aren't responsible for getting a woman pregnant since in mutual consensual adult situations, it is the woman who allows or disallows access to her body. I'm going to counter ol girl and her "Beauty standards" opinion... When are we going to accept that women also contribute to unrealistic beauty standards in some cases more than men. Women have a right to do what they want with their bodies and wear what they want. Ask any man who tells a woman "I like my woman natural" or give the opinion " You don't need to get cosmetic surgery" or "You don't have to wear that" the first thing the women will say is "We not doing it for men. We are doing it for ourselves" That statement litterally tells men that women are living up to their own beauty standards.

Also even if he was a hypocrite what does that have to do with women getting these surgeries and living up to these standards "for themselves"..
@vibez.no.cartel2 жыл бұрын
@@marcoervin7324 they are are getting it "for themselves" because society at large makes them feel insecure about it. It's a resolution for peace of mind. And if you liked the picture that means you liked the look of it. So why does it now bother you that she got the plastic surgery as means to look asceticlly pleasing for her partner AND give her peace of mind from not looking "good enough" from society. So telling her to "be natural" is just redundant because you're showing otherwise. Women get there image shamed by men at a disproportionate level, whether it's plastic or not because society and the male gaze puts a monetary value on women's beauty. Which contributes to how she gets treated in society at large. And if you deny that, then you're just being intellectually dishonest with yourself💀🤣. In the average 9-5 reality will always likely to see a really pretty woman with an ugly or average looking man. But you will hardly ever, if never, see an ugly woman with a really attractive man because there's little to no monetary value on a guy looking attractive. Case closed.

I had to pause the video for a second so I don’t miss anything. So far, I’ve only heard the first two young ladies speak. The first one said nothing but the truth and she doesn’t deserve hate for it. The second young lady, I wholeheartedly understand where she’s coming from and I wholeheartedly agree that you should never have a man around your daughter who’s intentions you have to second guess. At the same time, I DO feel like it’s appropriate for little girls / young ladies to be fully dressed around company! PERIOD. It’s not just about the man having ill intentions, it’s also about teaching your daughters self respect and how to conduct themselves. I personally wouldn’t want to teach my daughter to just be out here exposing herself to men. So maybe my unpopular opinion is, although I’m all for self love and body positivity, I still believe in certain things being age appropriate and certain things NOT being age appropriate. With that being said, I don’t necessarily “disagree” with the second young lady’s perspective, I just feel like she missed an important part of the lesson. I'm so sick of that "inherently selfish" parenting argument. Like, the definition of selfish is: lacking consideration for other people; concerned chiefly with one's own personal profit or pleasure. Having a child because you want to start a traditional family or because you love kids is not selfish, just like working hard to get a promotion or get into a dream university is not a selfish desire It's just a life goal or wish. That's it."I'd like to have kids someday." Boom, I have kids. And if there's nothing wrong with being selfish, then what's even your point? Like, seriously. 🙄

Yeah that’s how it works… anything you do to make you happy is selfish…… Since it benefits you and if having a kid makes you happy that’s selfish. Doing selfish acts aren’t as bad as people make it out to be because everyone is selfish.

@@midnightblue1293 I was thinking more so it’s selfish because you can’t 100% guarantee success for your child. Also as a society we’re messed up and depending on the standard u fit life can either be easier or harder. I hope that makes sense lol

@@midnightblue1293 no disrespect to you or anyone with this opinion but that's not what selfish means. Selfish means only caring about yourself, even at other's expense. Selfish is driving fast to work and splashing a pedestrian because you're in a hurry. Selfish is eating all the cookies in the cookie jar even though you know other people might want one. Selfish is cheating. Selfish is stealing. But selfish is not caring about your happiness. If that's the case, then you're selfish by even clicking on this video, because you did it solely for your pleasure and entertainment. You're selfish for putting on nice clothes when going out. You're selfish for buying your favourite food. Selfish does not mean caring for one's happiness. If the word ever changes definition to mean that, then it's no longer a negative word. It's as neutral as saying someone is young or old.
@blueiris15422 жыл бұрын
@@mickaelabaker9422 Selfishness also means to do something that pleasures oneself. So everyone is selfish to a certain extent and that's not always a bad thing or going to end in negative outcomes.

1:40 I would say it’s a Selfless decision. Not selfish. When you have a kid it’s like signing an imaginary contract that you will raise the child to the best of your ability and ensure your child has everything they need

Imo it’s not selfless or selfish, it’s literally just part of our nature as humans. Not everyone has to do it, but if you decide to do it then you’re literally just furthering the survival of our species, nothin more, nothin less, maybe it makes you happy as a bonus, but at the end of the day, it’s just a routine procedure of being alive for any organism.
