The first girl talking about homeless people are just lazy made absolutely no sense. First off, homelessness is multifaceted meaning that there are different types of homelessness. We’ve been fed the narrative that being homeless is an individual who lives on the street, is unhygienic and begs people for money which isn’t entirely true. Someone could be working a 9-5 full time job and still be homeless. Being homeless does not mean that you’re lazy. It simply means that you may not have the financial means to put a roof over your head. It doesn’t mean that a person isn’t trying to make ends meet or trying to provide for themselves. And I’m not sure why she thought it was necessary to compare a homeless person to an undocumented Latino who immigrated to the US being better off than a homeless person as if they are immune to homelessness. Any one can be homeless regardless of anything. Sis thought she really ate that conversation up lol

Some people have low-pay jobs and live in their vehicles, whilst others stay with relatives or crash with friends till they can get their own places to stay in. Everyone is trying to hustle in life. Then you get the down-bad homeless people, who sleep in the streets at nights and beg for food or money. One cannot compare the life of an illegal immigrant to a homeless local, especially if no context around their situation each has been provided. Personally, I think she should've just minded her own business and stayed in her lane. Wtf did she have to bring up decisions that undocumented immigrants and homeless people for, if she's been in the shoes of neither?

That first girl…how embarrassing. I’m a latina myself and I’ve unfortunately heard these sorts of remarks my whole life. She really thought she was spilling facts, though. 😭 It pains me to say that I can sort of see where she’s coming from, but that still does not excuse the ignorance. I’m going to set aside the disabled argument because that’s pretty self explanatory, but to call homeless people (as a whole) lazy is disgusting. I don’t know anything about her, but this type of argument usually comes from these kids of immigrant parents that have either never visited the motherland or visited in the tourist areas and go out shopping to the nice parts of the motherland. They don’t see that there is homelessness everywhere. They think it’s an “American” thing only. Rent is ridiculously high and it’s not always as easy as picking up and leaving to go someplace else. Some of these people also have things on their records which makes getting hired at decently paying jobs all the more difficult. I know people think “they put that on themselves” but how many times can you think of dumb ish you did when you were younger. We all make mistakes and the only thing we can do is learn from them. A lot of these homeless people that might have gotten into legal trouble in the past have learned and moved on, but this still mars their record. I don’t need to be listing all the different reason why one is homeless, but it doesn’t boil down to laziness. Furthermore, my parents struggled and went through hell to get where they are and have what they do, but they came to this country *prepared* to fight for it. I’m saying that these immigrants coming in enter the country knowing good and well what they’re about to put themselves through. Everyone else that’s too “lazy” to work for it isn’t even going to attempt to come to America. That’s why you hardly ever see a lazy latino in this country. It’s because the ones here are “the cream of the crop”. The ones that can’t be bothered to lift a finger stay back in their countries. All my family I have here in the states are almost obsessed with working while all my cousins my age back in the motherland are so entitled and never want to work for anything and ask for handouts. I’m in no way trying to take away what my immigrant parents came here to do. They’ve accomplished what they wanted to and it didn’t come easy, but despite not knowing the language and facing so much discrimination, they made it happen and not *once* did they try to throw *anyone* down in the dirt to make their own successes that much more (seemingly) significant. I was always taught that it’s so easy for one to paint a picture of what they see when they look at someone else, but you can’t ever know from a glance what that other person is going through. The fact that this girl looks at a homeless person asking for some help and thinks “lazy” says a lot more about her character than that of these homeless people. Also, the fact that she keeps saying “if a latino can do …” over and over again could suggest that she’s just been discriminated against far too many times and subconsciously wants to bring someone down to make herself feel superior. I’m not saying it’s fact because I don’t know this girl, but it’s what I think when I hear her little rant. Again, I’ve heard this sort of thing all my life and it comes from those that are bitter and can’t move on from a few nasty things said about them. I’m not saying that discrimination is something to just be shrugged off, but to go through it then turn around and project it back in such a negative way- targeting another group of people, at that- does not make you any better than the people that said these horrible things to you. I’ve been called every slur in the book throughout my 23 years and never have I felt the need to attack someone else because of it. I was even jumped by a group of racist guys and had my head smashed into the pavement so hard that I was hospitalized and didn’t wake up for two days. Still, I walked away from that without unleashing my anger from that situation onto someone else. Couldn’t be me. 💀
@samueldominguez98592 жыл бұрын
imo comparing homelessness in the US to homelessness in 2nd/3rd world countries is a false equivalence. Income to rent ratio in the US is not as bad as some of these latin countries. I think she's mostly right, except that she should have taken into account that the immigrants coming into the US are already likely to be motivated individuals who are able to work. Therefore it's unfair to compare our latino parents to the general domestic population. But overall I do feel like from my time spent in Mexico (Guadalajara specifically), there were definitely way less homeless people. Another thing to note though is that culture plays a big role. In a Mexican pueblo, family WILL NOT allow family to sleep on the streets.

That girl talking about homelessness needs to get a reality check. She says undocumented immigrants work harder and succeed better than documented Americans? Many of these large companies will hire an undocumented immigrant over an American citizen because they are cheap labor. Keep it real. Hard work had nothing to do with it; many companies are just greedy. Secondly, many homeless people aren't living out on the street. They might be living with their parents to attend college, which we all know is expensive. Some homeless people have mental and physical disabilities that greatly affects their ability to even work. Are they lazy? Also, consider the high standards of living, especially in big cities like New York or Los Angeles. And lastly, some people end up homeless because they lost their job getting laid off. Finding another job is difficult because it's very competitive. Are they lazy too? Just saying.

I don't think the BBL argument was shaming people for choosing to have cosmetic surgery though. From what I understood, she was talking about deconstructing the system that pressures people to rely on life threatening procedures to meet standards that aren't really grounded in anything real. Getting a BBL because you genuinely want a bigger ass is not the same as getting a BBL because you've been conditioned by societal standards to think that your ass would be better if it were bigger. Yes people should be allowed to do what they want, but that shouldn't close the conversation when it comes to criticizing the system itself.
@nicollettes46653 жыл бұрын
Yea I agree too. I didn’t think it was shaming either. It’s a valid conversation because cosmetic surgery is becoming super normalized. There is nothing wrong with getting surgery but it becomes a slippery slope when “if you don’t like something, change it” is being pushed.

Second, to get a job (for the most part) you need to do an interview. Which means you need proper clothes, need to be well groomed, and clean. Ole girl that shamed people in relationships... maybe find better friends? 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Just because your low-vibration ass friends are like that, doesn't mean everyone is. I agree with Dee, her first relationship she gone be sprung and you can't tell her shit, 🤣🤣. You tend to attract who you hang around so...

If your undocumented you shouldn't be here. Homeless people need help cause their american and most have drug abuse problems.The undocumented tend to work for less. That's why they get hired fast like most immigrants legal or illegal. That girl was so ignorant.

Lol yeah they're so lazy they're living in the some of the harshest conditions you can imagine. It would be a lot easier (or lazier, wtf) to just something regular like have a regular office job that pays for an apartment. But yeah, a lot of these are just people thinking of the most controversial thing they can think of so they can go viral. Attention is the name of the game.
