Will Smith was the first rapper to get a Grammy. People clowned on him but most of his songs went to the top 40 and majority of his movies were big blockbuster hits. He probably is the most successful at doing both Rap and acting in all realness. Plus, they didn't even mention his 80s hits with DJ Jazzy Jeff.

It's easy to just go with the flow and do what everyone else is doing. But for him to stick to his own path and choose to do his music on his own terms, despite people hating on him, is respectable.

It's definitely Will Smith, but ole girl failed in her defense of Queen Latifah. Come on, how you let these dudes disrespect her and a rapper like that I don't even listen to her like that and the first 3 song off the top is Unity, Ladies First, and Just Another Day. Not to mention is known to have one of the, if not the best female diss track of all time with "Name Calling Part 2", which is said to be what ended Foxy Brown's career. Then with her acting, she has played some amazing roles. Sure she's done the romantic comedy thing, but she's also an underrated dramatic actress as well and even been nominated for an Emmy or two if I'm not mistaken. 🗣 Put some respect on the Queen...

Not to mention he was definitely going platinum all the time, the first rapper to win a Grammy, and most of all, they wanted to do "Will Smith numbers" (hence him referencing it in that song he did "To The Clique" on youtube a couple years ago). So he may not be the greatest rapper, but they respect his hustle...

Queen latifah is slept on as an artist because U.N.I.T.Y. has a great message in it, and we forget she has an amazing voice too, she put out a jazz album i believe and she also sang on the living single theme song too. As far as her acting the only movie I like to this day is "Just Wright" because it's a great love story now back in the day Set it off was good but not a fan of her character but the action and directing was on point.

I think some of their picks were moreso based on the BEST rapper part than the actual acting. Mos Def is a great rapper but acting, I didn't see enough of that to say he's the best. But I did see that he does really good in that movie based on a true story about the black surgeon. Not Ben Carson. but it was a movie Mos did with Alan Rickman I think. But not everybody knows about that. I guess it's all relative. Will Smith is the most successful rapper turned actor but he isn't the best actor; the majority of his films aren't memorable outside of Pursuit of Happyness, but his earlier music is fire (pre-Lost & Found). Queen latifah is probably the more diverse yet short-lived rapper turn actor but her roles are more memorable, almost as much as her rap career ( I can name at least 7 songs of hers up til 1999). Snoop Dogg's acting was moreso features, like a supporting of a supporting of the leads. He had a few 2-5 minute spots in movies and really didn't branch out past his own rap persona otherwise. Ice Cube had a good start as an actor but is moreso a better writer and producer than an actor but he's a beast on that mic and on that paper. 2Pac tend to be more one note in the acting roles, but he's one of - if not THEE - best rapper lyricist bar none. So I'd say it's neck and neck with Queen and Will

Will Smith was more of a gimmick rapper but his acting skills are above and beyond. I think if Tupac had lived, his acting career would've probably been up there with Will Smith. I definitely believe he would've been a writer, director actor. He was a visionary. But we'll never know. Snoop cant act. Yasin Bey (Mos Def) hasnt been in any good movies but hes definitely another one with potential. He wasnt given the right opportunities. I don't think Queen Latifah has a lot of depth as an actress. I like her in movies but the most believable love scene she's done was the one in Set It Off. I feel like Ice Cube plays himself in his movies.
